I've also seen a number of tac games where the commander ignores getting bombers in lieu of quicker tech only to have our garrison bombed/capped and not be able to get sb's at all.

True, but unfortunately there's no command to win, but there is a command to lose! What's the deal with that?! When I want to lose, I type #resign, but when I want to win, there's no $#@!ing command for it!

Until of course they put #bootresign into the game. That way you'll always win, and be an hero at the same time.

bombers are a often underrated ship, on the hands of a good team, and with good support tech (adv, heavy scouts, cm 2 and 3 in case of going against a tac, heavy bombers, ab 2 or 3, ac 2 or 3 (a must if you are playing a bombing game), med shield upgrades, hull and shield GA, nan 2 and prox 2) bombers can be VERY deadly.

although i've only seen aarm go this way, it is sure something to be afraid of. who says you can't win with garrison tech? (disclaimer: you need to have a decent team inclined in bombing and you also need very good probing

And as most games these days are exp games that just isn't good enough.
You are talking about full sup and garr tech there. You also threw in an adv tac GA with Exp tech. If you ever get all that tech in one game...
I mean it would be much cheaper and better to just get hvy bbrs + med shields 2/3, xrm 1/2, tp2 and end the game.

Bombing a tac and also bombing an exp defended by mimi3 hvy ints in a 15v15 spring to mind.

It echos a lot of the things said before the whole derail, but it has a lot of other goodies too.

i just named an array of techs that can go well with bombers, but never said they were not viable without it ( if you decide to mix up your techs, let's say tac with bombers, you can benefit from shield GA, and if you decide to buy an exp, hull GA. just an example anyway, if you are playing a bombing game the best way to go would be sup, and trying to max out bomber tech asap (priority = nan2, ac2, hull GA & ss 2, in that order)
