I like the idea of point rewards to up different categories. Might take some work but it would be nice if you simply got a GA bonus that applied to you only. Thus you can use your points for PW/EW Dmg (which a KB currently does basically), increase your sensor range, and even bettter... boost your ship hull. That way if you human caltropped and got a bunch of points for extinguish a bbr run singlehandedly, you can use those points towards turning yourself into a hard-to-kill scout good for nanning, etc. etc.
But if this "feature" isn't developed, I'm in favor of removing the cap and making kills based on # of kills instead of a curve, effectively making it linear. Right now I think the curve is a bit unfair as it is easy to pick up a quick 21KB by podding 3 newbies. 21% advantage against your opponents is alot. Heck, 10% for killing one newbie is alot. At minimum, the curve needs to be adjusted so that the gains don't accelerate so quickly. I think that would balance out the game better.
Now back to crawling under my newbie rock.
Allegiance with no KB
I would like a way to create incitatives to kill pods while removing the KB. You could even give pods better hull /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> .
I'll complete what some said:
If an int whore who whore all day gets a 40% damage bonus, could a scout who scout all day get a 40% scan range bonus to find sbs? Obviously, it would make little sense so does kbs...
I think that the incitative should be a penalty for the person/team that gets pod killed rather than a bonus for the killer.
The bonus currently promotes stupid dogfights.
One of the way to promote pod killing could be to make any player who was pod killed weaker for some time. The death could make a player almost completely useless for some time and he would slowy recover.
-The recovery rate would be fast early and would slow down.
-Getting pked before having fully recovered could be different than being pked with full health.
The ideas of points could be interesting, but some of the ideas posted here might be hard to make.
Spotting an enemy bomber is nice, but let's say you're a scout. you turn your eyes and stop seein the bomber, you turn away, see again and get new pts?
Also, doing diversions could reward the enemy team...
But for bringing techs home and finding alephs it could work, but theses are usually done early.
