Patties carry probes so why give probes in ints? that's bizare.
And paties are pretty nasty, especially if there will be enh/adv/hvy patties as well.
As for not fitting the theme, well, they fit exactly imho, the pattie is an all purpose defence ship, capable of taking that defence into the enemy home and whoring. It also takes care of the lack of scouts issue, smoothly.
Since they could start with patties and possibly research enh patties, then that's just more nastyness. enh patties would have 4 missiles, and you're looking at a scan of about 1.6k which is pretty decent for a "non-scout" ship, combine that with the pw range/damge perk, you're looking at a pretty nasty ship that carries prox.

Just a minor point: 100 for one burst array, or 200 for two on std patty (or for madp, std int)? If it only comes in packs of ones, then a pattie/int carring say 4 burst arrays (if the pilot wants to find enemy home aleph in one run in IO) can only carry two more items, say both EWS? No extra DF, ammo, or fuel. Just pointing out in case it's not an intended shortcoming of this faction.

2. pattys WILL be researchable.... garr patty/starbase enh patty/ assault patty (not able to mount nanite)
3. fighters will be able to carry standard ews probes but lints cannot
4. all ships can carry Burst Arrays (int, fig, patty)
** Assault patty will have sml rip ability and able to mount lt cloaking+turret
** HINTS will have a lux (assault hint)version same as giga with +1 extra mini, but at a reduced scan range...blind, but mean
all tech bases will be = Basic ~ advanced ~ Assault
assault grants following;
assault Exp=
Ass Hints (4th mini, redused scan)
Assault Htt ( slight sig drop, increase armor plating )
Particle Rail Cannon ( PE mini type gun that has AOE on shields and hull of ships + lt bases think aoe galv)
Assault Sup=
Ass Fig (higher scan range, increased speeed, increased armor, fired Dual missiles)
XRM ab missile 2
Armageddon mrm (think dumb 3 with hunt 3 tracking)
Assault Tac=
Assault Stealth fig (3 sec rip, each missile rack increased by 2)
Phased Cloaking device ( lowers sig to 50% but at 0 cost to energy)
Assault Starbase=
Assault Patty (sml rip ability and able to mount lt cloaking/Phased cloak+1 turret)
Assault constructor ( armor + shield bonus)
Nano Shielding ( only gives 80% of what hvy/small 3 gives but at 40% faster recharge rate)

giga lxys dont have a 4th mini, they rip and have better gun mounts and lead indicators. but 4th gun would be ok for ass int

Interesting nerfs listed. With speed like that, your sf will have a maximum of 112mps. Dreg's enh miners go 120mps.

Anyway, I like the assault equipment but I'd say be careful about having a concept that is so strong (I'm thinking MRM Armageddon) and then having to apply a ridiculous nerf.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
well the payload on MEM armagedon may be lowered....aww hell....probly make it = to Hunter 2 to make it fair

as for riping caps....they need an object to rip to, like a focus point..dont that that would work without a code change
