Allegiance 1.3 installs but I get the error message when I try to start it.
I get: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Allegiance 1.3\Beta\Allegiance.exe is not a valid Win32 application

this is beta testing, it is always like this and if you're that easily defeated, then you have no reason testing beta.cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Sep 20 2015, 03:54 PM) How about give us a binary that doesn't require gymnastics to install.
As far as I'm concerned, this week's beta test is concluded and the results are in.
Even as I didn't start acss or asgs I did everything as above and I still get:Wasp wrote:QUOTE (Wasp @ Sep 20 2015, 09:50 PM) I think the problem is that when you run beta from the asgs launcher, it breaks things...
follow these steps precisely...
goto the allegiance 1.3 / beta folder and double click the uninst.exe and uninstall it. REBOOT!
THEN download R8 BETA
before extracting that, right click on the zip file and goto properties and hit the button that says "unblock" (for win7 users)....then extract the zip file and double click the installer.
After installation, do NOT run the ASGS launcher, instead, launch the R8 beta using the shortcut that was created on your desktop!
As I understand, ease (and robustness) of installation is at the top of the priority list and is key for growing the user base. It's pretty clear what needs to be worked on. No sense blaming the testers for the deficiencies of the beta.Wasp wrote:QUOTE (Wasp @ Sep 20 2015, 12:57 PM) this is beta testing, it is always like this and if you're that easily defeated, then you have no reason testing beta.
The beta is hosted on the CSS server. If you are not seeing the CSS server and you see a game with 2000 players, you've got it installed incorrectly.H4L_OMNI wrote:QUOTE (H4L_OMNI @ Sep 20 2015, 04:09 PM) Tried joining the only game I see and got message there is no more room in tha game!
