(cort ui was available years beforehand).
You had ample time to chime in and state your mind about the changes if you didn't like them.
If you actually Spent some time researching the changes that were done You could have said "hey turkeyXII i dont like it".
But then you come whining at me because of A $#@!ING LAYOUT CHANGE?!
YES GETUSED TO IT!
You should be thanking djole who coded all this.
Sorry, I was under the impression that the point of Beta is to solicit feedback before it was released, in recognition of the fact that the people that know what's in R8 is a small group, and those that WORK on it even smaller -- and it's not just more than probable, it's mathematically certain that some aesthetic or gameplay opinions may be overrepresented in that group.

But now I read you loud and clear: the R8 devs are neither interested in feedback, nor can be arsed to make changes based on it, even if they did care.

Admittedly #3 is just a matter of getting used to. I get the motivation behind it, and it's good for newbies that don't have the muscle memory to unlearn that I do. Still, the point of it was to prevent misclicks, and in my case it's CAUSING misclicks, and hence you can understand the aggravation (esp. since I never had problems with misclicks before).

Now #2 is ugly as balls. Some may think it's a reasonable tradeoff for more lines of chat; I disagree, and from a "does this appeal to newbies?" standpoint, it makes our game look even more amateurish than it already is.

Cash there are now those dying to get the cortui in and those that want to keep it out, what should I do? Someone before me implemented it so I assumed you people agreed on that.

I'll be honest: alleg1 code is crap. I don't like digging through crap any more than I have to.
Doesn't matter which license we get - the code will still remain crap.

Why is it crap? Obsolete tech, random magic numbers ALL over the code, non-portable, server that trusts the clients, UI (mdls) that is written by people without any sense of scaling (even though it was and is available), mem management that is just bull@#(!.

Therefore I'm working on alleg2 and not extending alleg1.

Not sure the purpose of beta is to address specific individual complaints and opinions. I agree l've never known wtf is in a release before it occurs myself which is a systemic issue rather than blacksun's. Nor have I agreed with everything that was done and held strong opinions too. I cannot help but think how much more of a cluster$#@! things would be when essentially one person does it all.

It is disheartening to read these threads and sure to demotivate those doing stuff even more.

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

Whether we have a higher percentage of close head injuries in the community than the national average or not we go through this stupid @#(! over and over and over. So it is not good enough to present things like we do so no the plop here is some link with your hands on your hips is not enough. This isn't me hating it is me being on both sides and knowing how disfunctional this becomes every time.

I personally found it quite entertaining as a nan on the bomb run that first discovered that we couldn't blow the Exp.

We had em by the short hairs and....nothing!

BTW,for you non coders: Imagine how frustrated you get when you type a web address and then have to re-type it because of a syntax error.

Then imaging having to do that with pages and pages of code. That is why we OWE it to any coders that want us to beta test.

Can we get R8 out before anniversary game?

Which is exactly why this piece of crap is never going on steam.

Discussing copyrights and license is ridiculous when you realize what you get in the end. This @#(! isn't worth owning and cannot survive in today's environment.

Yet we still play this game, wierd huh.
There are people who still care about Allegiance, and are willing to do what it takes, to keep it going.
Yes the code is fundementally crap since it was released, we worked around it, and we will now.
Call me a blind optimistic, But I believe this game can go on.
