I did cut it down a little for the tl;dr crowd, but i actually think its a mix of the two. If i had to lean one way, i would definitely lean towards Huxley though. Inflicting pleasure definitely seems to be the most effective way to control a population, but there are still many authoritarian elements and a healthy dose of propaganda that pushes the slider a bit back towards the center in between the two.

EDIT: i do remember being pissed off at the ending of Huxley's book though.

Apart from the legal rights or not, I am not an American.

What worries me is how easy it it to kill someone. In the old times you have to knife or shoot someone, poison or chop his head of. I suppose it takes some guts to knife someone and see him dying before your eyes. It makes the killing hard, and the number of kills low. Try knifing 20 people. Not that easy.

Nowadays some guy sits comfortable in an chair far away from the battle zone, uses a joystick and an computer to let a remote controlled plane kill someone. No risk. You don't even see the person, just a YaHOOOO after a big explosion. Just as easy to blow up a Garr in Alleg.

Convenient. The President sends an email from his smartphone, and 10 minutes later, BEEP BEEP, "tango down sir". Reply: letter of commendation, "well done son".

indeed. what we should do is just ask all the guys who do things like fly planes into buildings filled with civilians to just sit around a table and talk about their issues with us. I'm sure they'll be willing to do that if we are.

Killing isnt wrong, we all contribute in one way or another. Its culture and human nature to kill, its been going since the dawn of man and will continue, so get used to it.

The difference is killing for the right or wrong reasons, its not my call to decide that factor in foreign office.

However from an ethical and moral standpoint, this chump was blown up so to save lives, his life for many, when he put himself in this situation is completely justifiable to me.

People die and are murdered for far less glorious reasons, some without any point at all....

"US Citizen"? A strange term! Can we really know what a US Citizen is? It's one of those weird philosophical words that you have to analyse and what-not. Like beauty, it's in the eyes of the beholder.
