Yeah, what Turkey said.
Boots fall into any one of three categories:
Your noobishness is about to endager a very important offensive and so it's vital to get you out of the way IMMEDIATELY. Nothing personal, just business. Sorry.Your noobishness has blossomed into full-blown voobishness. Despite repeated warnings you refuse to read the chat, think the chat applies to someone else, or are otherwise incapable of following orders. This is the next step towards getting your attention. AKA: "Boot for a better allegiance!"You're actually awesome and the commander is just an @#$%@# / having a bad day. Join the other team, slaughter all his miners in revenge.
In this case, your boot was Type 1. Sounds like you're well on your way to avoiding Type 2 boots. That leaves only Type 3 boots, which you'll just have to deal with every once in a while unfortunately.
Newb questions
I'm new and I'm ... clueless.
And I have another couple questions:
3. Cargo and Equipment
Is there a way to eject equipment (especially shields, missles and cloaks) directly from being mounted?
This is mostly for those cases where you wanted to go low-sig but launched from base with
a shield mounted etc. ... wasting a probe or having to go back to base both suck so ...
4. Gamephases
Can only a garrison build constructors or Outposts/Techbases as well?
If only Garrison: Losing that Garr pretty much equals defeat since any other base you might have is irreplaceable?

Goodwill,
First off, let me say that it was I in that stealth bomber.
I had just entered that sector and noticed a wave of enemy ships heading toward that aleph I entered. Because I was in a stealth bomber, my ships signature was low enough that they couldn't spot me from the distance I was keeping from them. When you entered and started following me, they were still approaching closer and it was only a matter of time until they "eyed" you. I know as soon as they eye you, they will boost toward you and could potentially "eye" me when they reach you. That is why I was asking you not to follow me.
When I asked you not to follow, you didn't listen and insisted that you were "uneyed" as though my request was meaningless and to be ignored. THAT is why I asked the commander to boot you. Not to punish you, but to remove your ship from within my proximity before you were eyed.
No offense was intended, I knew it was only your lack of knowledge that put me in jeopardy and I needed a fast remedy. If you didn't voluntarily remove your ship from my proximity, the commander could (via boot). As soon as you rejoined the game, you would've appeared at that spot in a pod and I would have remained "uneyed".

[15:25] <BBT_> oh, so da vinci's mona lisa isn't his work?
[15:25] <+fuh-zz> No, he simply put effort into it.
[15:25] <BBT_> are you really that retarded?

Thanks for the replies.Nightflame wrote:QUOTE (Nightflame @ Aug 20 2011, 07:34 AM) 3: Not that I know of.
4: You need a garrison to build techbases/SY. You can build anything else, including a new garrison, without one.
3. Sad ... very sad indeed.
4. Then where do new Cons appear if the Garrison is destroyed? From where the Comm is basesitting?
If he is in flight ... can he choose where Cons are entering the map?
Nice of you to get back to this at length, especially where the case has been cleared up already.jbansk wrote:QUOTE (jbansk @ Aug 20 2011, 07:35 AM) Goodwill,

Well, not much more to say I guess ... just that the purple part wasn't meant to be spiteful or anything.
We are talking about just a couple seconds during which it didn't cross my mind to just steer away from you before
trying to understand what the $#@! is going on (Or did I stop or steer away? Don't remember):
"Get away? Wut? Why would he not want a nan? Oh ... must be a signature thing. But I am going low-sig here and he is in a BOMBER so what's the deal? ..." -> idling towards you in the meantime until that Int hit my "totally uneyed" backside.
Well, anyways ... looking forward to nanning your ass next time you are actually in a "real" bomber.

I should also add; that you DID steer your ship away from mine in time to keep me from being eyed for which I was grateful. I'm sorry you got podded.
It's nice to see someone who picks up the game so quickly as you do. I hope you'll never take any abuse from other players personally. This game is all about frustration management and sometimes when we blow a fuse, we overreact. Looking back now, I think I'd rather have been eyed than to see you get booted. I apologize for flipping out like that.

3 is right... you can only eject things that are in cargo.GoodWill wrote:QUOTE (GoodWill @ Aug 20 2011, 06:51 PM) Thanks for the replies.

4. New bases will launch from the oldest base that was built. Or maybe the oldest techbase... I can't quite remember, haven't commed much in a long time.
