These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

Hehehe, for sure! If I was playing in a 3v3 expanded with bots to a 8v8, I would definitely not want to have to probe :P
I'd want to drive the HTT/BBR or lead miner O ship with a hoard of bots on my wing ;)

But it's a good point, perhaps only the commander should be able to order the bots, to avoid a player ordering a bot to probe possibly taking it away from another mission the comm ordered it on.
On the other hand: Human > Bot, so if a bot is avaliable/doing nothing, why not let the human have the bot probe if they don't want to?
VenCain wrote:QUOTE (VenCain @ Aug 24 2010, 02:48 PM) I remember doing pigs once. It's been way too long ago but I think you'd get a bot each time you issued the command to bring one in. I think I had to hack the server to accept the command. I also seem to recall sabretooth getting up in arms on IGN thinking we were doing something underhanded to stack stats (I was an FZer but this was when there were free AZ days) while we were playing around with them. Long, long time ago.

Thanks :) From what I remember, the command errored/wouldn't connect for me, but I don't think I modified the server to accept the command... I'll give it another go when I'm ready to start touching the Alleg source

Thanks Imago :iluv: I promise I will be on IRC as this ramps up.
I'll need to chat and run ideas past people like yourself.

Thanks!

Excellent idea. This would work great for off-peak times, and it would also make it possible to create more dynamic newbie servers and training missions. You go Aaron! :iluv:

Adaven wrote:QUOTE (Adaven @ Aug 21 2010, 12:02 AM) improving the AI would be a useful step towards better training missions or maybe even a single player 'mini' campaign. Humans v Humans will always be the main draw, but I think this couid be used to help lessen the learning curve and encourage more people to try the game.

+1
I have always thought a mini single player campaign, as opposed to the current training missions would be a better way to train newbs.
