Microsoft owns the code, and per the license agreement we cannot bind it with Steam or any Steam-Like-Objects (see Scope of Rights, paragraph 2).

We're not on Gamespy server lists for the same reason We're not on Steam lists - we're not an official organization. Tigereye needs to square this away or allow someone else in the community to create an organization registered with a state / country and make our primary presence appear from said organization. TE would be the logical person to do this as he is currently the owner of the alleg.net domain and that is our primary freeallegiance.org.

THIS IS ALL THE SAME REASON WHY WE DONT HAVE:

A GameSpy SDK (free)
A GoDaddy OpenSource SSL Certificate (free)
A Class 3 Code Signing Certificate ($)

THANKS TIGEREYE

I wasn't making this @#(! up. These are FACTS. Saisoma and I have SPOKEN with GameSpy SDK Licensing DIRECTLY.

Gamespy may know nothing about the license conditions covering Allegiance. though, so they may only be commenting from their own standpoint.
Both may be barriers to Gamespy integration.

At the very least this paragraph....

QUOTE You may not use or distribute this Software or any derivative works in any form for
commercial purposes. Examples of commercial purposes would be running business
operations, licensing, leasing, or selling the Software, distributing the Software for use
with commercial products or any other activity which purpose is to procure a commercial
gain to you or others.
[/quote]

May stop it being distributed by a commercial service such as Gamespy.

It wasn't the MS SS License that stopped GameSpy from granting FAO the SDK. We spoke with multiple people @ GameSpy over the course of months while our request was being handled. - It was our representation (or lack of) as a legitimate organization, that was the only reason. It was SaiSoma and I's effort alone. We need the owner of FAO to become involved.
