I'm sorry what point were you making? You haven't made a post beforehand mateCREST wrote:QUOTE (CREST @ Nov 8 2009, 09:05 PM) the point i was making there is that naning a con is alot easyer and faster then naning a building fyi naning a sup from crit would take one player a few min vs 20 second or so from a con
What are the rules on booting players off the team?

FYI damaged cons turn into fully healed bases. So I have no friggen idea what you're trying to prove here, except that you don't understand allegiance very well. If that's the case, cadet and the wiki and ask questions.CREST wrote:QUOTE (CREST @ Nov 8 2009, 06:05 PM) the point i was making there is that naning a con is alot easyer and faster then naning a building fyi naning a sup from crit would take one player a few min vs 20 second or so from a con

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

Aside from what Phoenix said, bases are invulnerable to most small ship weapons (while cons aren't), and of course friendly ships can launch from bases to defend and nan (which can't happen with a con). A con that's planting is a con that's home free.CREST wrote:QUOTE (CREST @ Nov 8 2009, 09:05 PM) the point i was making there is that naning a con is alot easyer and faster then naning a building fyi naning a sup from crit would take one player a few min vs 20 second or so from a con
I'm firmly against 5s getting boot protection, btw. Despite being a chronic 5, I've only been booted a couple of times in my Allegiance career, so it doesn't seem like commanders are too boot-happy with low-rankers - in general, people who are boot-happy will boot people for doing something sufficiently stupid regardless of their rank.

fiiefox wrote:QUOTE (fiiefox @ Nov 8 2009, 08:19 PM) the point of this is not to whine about being booted its just to point out that your rank has something to do with being booted. A 5 making a mistake is alot more likly to get booted than a intern i have a rank of 7 novice so get booted for most everything (i play for the short stack alot my stack rank is -5. something one of the highest)
Reading back over this thread I've noticed a couple of things
Fiiefox = CREST I thinkThe above quoted statement is so retarded I don't really know where to start. I'm a mediocre pilot at best, yet I've been booted 5 times or so in the 18 months I've been playing, all the way from noob rank to my present (overrated I feel) Inter 11. I have not yet had a boot I felt was undeserved. People get booted mostly for (in my own opinion) Not researching the game by using the excellent training materials that are provided by the community, and using the info. in game. I mean the number of newish players who don't seem to know what a nan or probe is, is scary. Spamming the chat Repeatedly ignoring the comm or his instructions. Rank has nothing to do with being booted apart from when you are protected as a newbie.
+1
I agree, my experience is the same... I have been booted three times in my entire life so far. I also believe it is not about the rank, but the attitude towards the game. I am still Inter1 and statististically I do not see me ever to pass that rank anymore,...
One boot was for sitting in base since no toilet is installed in the ships... one for annoying an important Con while building in a prime time game, and the last I forgot. I could have prevented 2 of these boots by communicating (!), i.e. informing and listening what I don't lack anymore.
But I must also admit that I see many bootings which were absolutely contraproductive for the game that I would not support - maybe I miss the persepective there, but with my experience I doubt that. In the end it's is always a commander with all human troublesome attributes.
So the truth is - as usual - somewhere in the middle... and not every boot should be considered a justified one. Just play.

This is certainly getting looked into at the mo, just takes a while for ZL's and admins to all be around and agree a change.notjarvis wrote:QUOTE (notjarvis @ Nov 8 2009, 10:21 PM) +1 - MrC has spoke long and hard about the artificial jump to rank five that was put in (with the best of intentions) to stop people spending too long on the newbie server. I agree this should be changed if possible.
