If I recall, this only goes into effect if you dismount, then re-mount the shields.

The reason that player carriers cannot receive ships trying to dock if they had previously unmounted shields.

If shields are left up from the start, it doesn't seem to occur.

Can anyone clarify this, I'm not totally certain, but I've tested it before.

Wow, this is an abyss of obscure bugs that the majority of the community consider fair game, rofl.

Anyway, I'll start working on this as my time permits. Maybe I'll even find some people to help me with it.
Wow, seriously... first I've heard of the ridiculousness... I knew they had issues but I never realized exactly how it worked seeing as I'm left out off the loop and don't browse the flames forums every goddamned day. Now I know to dip low in rix ships...

FFS WTF?!

You mean a ship with a full shield is an even bigger target and it's not mentioned anywhere?
The hitboxes are a bug sort of... the shield is a feature, it's really ridiculous that it's not mentioned in cadet or something.

BTW what do you mean by oval and how big is it?
Um... I knew there was a graphical effect but didn't realize the shield itself had a hitbox... good to know! Thanks again Madp! (spinny go shoot a miner and watch :)

If you adjust hitboxes to models, you need to balance the whole game again.

For example PE weapons.
They get more cheesier than they are ATM with low lag and high lag (100+) players will suck even more.

Another one, Rix Fighter:
People love them flying, but will hate them fighting against with new smaller hitbox. PW weapons will do less damage than they do now, because more bullets will miss with adjusted hitbox.
The Escapist (Justin Emerson) @ Dec 21 2010, 02:33 PM:
The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.

I guess what some people don't understand is the following:
yes some hitboxes are "unfair" or whatever word you want to use
BUT
the game is currently balanced around those hitboxes.

A hitbox change for such things is something that could be considered but not at this time as we still have many other projects on the burner ahead of it.

Thankfully we have people in the community making such comments as the below - not seeming to understand that is is the fairest game we have currently until we have time to balance every single minute variable that goes into a hitbox adjustment across multiple factions/ships

Adept your efforts are appreciated as well and while this is something that I wouldn't mind tackling for CC we have a fair few other projects to do first.
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.
