scarce+ are yummy giga settings. Good for specmine spam, giga miners, whatever.

scarce+ = full giga miner and empty rock for 9K

A belter miner on the other hand mines a tad more than half of what a giga miner accomplishes, but pulls 7.2K for it, basically making better use of a rock, at the cost of additional mining time.


I also did a test and found that a Giga miner (which are enh by default?) And a Std Belter miner are equal in toughness, both take 1.9 100% accuracy racks from a dual mini1 interceptor to kill with a KB of 10%

Yes, giga miners are enh by default, it's one of the faction's major perks. It's why their economy doesn't crumble in the face of a lone scout with only a nan attatched.

I'd hardly say enh miners are one of the "major perks", granted it would be a huge nerf if they lost enh miners but giga's enh miners are fairly easy to kill with Giga's hull nerf. Honestly I would prefer if Giga had standard miners which are like thier enh miners but they can also research enh miners (which would be like thier adv miners) and then if they get an exp they can get adv miners (which would be akin to having luxy miners), same for cons as well but maybe reduce speed a bit.

This would fit well into Giga's image of having a better economy as the better miners would give giga a faster econ.

I'm still wondering if there is an issue doubling the amount of He3 on each rock and halving the value. If it works it'd resolve all miner resource issues, and giga wouldn't need any perks.

Just as easy to half miner capacities across the board. Same result, and you won't get the helium bar on the rocks maxing out as much.

It's probably a good idea, but will upset the economy of just about every other faction as they will have to make 2 trips to each rock.
I'm not sure if this has been linked yet, but it's a neat toy.

Definitely an interesting suggestion. Maybe not doubling it but by something around 50%.

As Turkey has sort of mentioned though, all the factions are balanced (more or less) around the current He settings. Not saying it wouldn't be possible to balance under the new ones, just that it would take quite a bit of tweaking.

Maybe something for the future.
