Also, lol Internet. You think name-calling in Allegiance is bad? I've heard things about Halo and its ilk and they have not been very pleasant.

Yes, this is a team game. It's so much a team game that ignoring to pick up a bunch of pods could make you lose the game because you don't have any teamwork. If you are the last one alive out of a bomb run, and you rip away and leave your team to fly back for 4 minutes, you're being a detriment to your team. People get angry, so learn from it. Don't do it again and they won't get angry about that anymore. Making a forum thread about how EVERYONE IS SO MEAN TO ME isn't really going to help you because you seem to have overlooked that EVERYONE IS MEAN TO PEOPLE IN GENERAL. In all, Allegiance is fairly civil and everyone has put in a lot of hours of work to develop training programs, to develop ranking systems, to balance the gameplay, to run and pay for servers... Except that means we have a vested interest and so are likely to react to people who don't utilize the resources we made with more heartfelt profanities than an average 13-year-old playing Halo.

Think of it as a sports match Mystic. People can get worked up and yell all sorts of things... and usually they won't even remember doing it five minutes later. Allegiance can get pretty intense.

I'm a total carebear, but I find myself typing somewhat harsh stuff on occasion (and then decide not to do that again... and so on).

Stick with it. Allegiance is absolutely worth the steep learning curve and the occasional stupid comment. The community is actually very cool, and has kept the game going through times good and bad.

Welcome to Allegiance man, enjoy your stay

now learn to pickup those silly defenders who went ahead of your defence against a bomb run and got podded by going 1 by 1...with lt booster!

...thats how your tech gets blown to a 13k run by basic bombers

It can get pretty intense especially when I command on TS!

But you speak some odd version of English. That, combined with sound distortion and needing to hear over the game makes you kind of sounds like WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH WAHWAHWA WAH@!!!!

(I've never actually heard you on TS.)

Koln wrote:QUOTE (Koln @ Apr 28 2009, 05:18 PM) It tends to happen to me the other way out: I go to pick up pods and those stupids seem to be watching pod-porn and just fly by and ignore my "I gotcha, hold still" command. I just let them enjoy their long pod run....then they call me moron....well, i've got better things to do than run after their pod!! just look for the bright red letters!!

You've got to get use to behaviour as illogical as that....
Mmmm... pod porn

Mystic wrote:QUOTE (Mystic @ Apr 28 2009, 06:59 AM) Hi,
I am very new to this game, but my rank says NOVICE 5.
Since you are a (5) your rank does not display on people's HUD so that is most likely irrelevant.

Usually when people bitch at me for not picking them up, I just tell them "use 'np next time." There are times when I don't want to be picked up (but that's just me).
