Fixed!
But yeah, I think Rix is little cheesy by being strong in everything and they can afford lots of pretty stuff.
DasSmiter wrote:QUOTE (DasSmiter @ Jan 28 2009, 06:34 PM) It is a bit counter-intuitive, but it's to make up for the fact that people simply fail at flying Rix most of the time.
The highest research cost AFAIK is Dreg, and that's a nerf to balance their incredible speed/agility on ships that require no adaptation to fly.
Dreg's cost nerf is counterbalanced by their yield. The only reason it feels like a nerf at all is Dreg's slower mining speed and lower capacity miners. Give Dreg settings where there are less than 68 units of He on a rock, and Dreg has no problems outspending Rix.

IC do have tough bases, did you have any KB? Or AB2? I think four is the normal amount for KBs less than 25 with AB1.

Agreed, I would like to see a bit of a reduction on Rix mining speed though. The weak miners are cool, but they should stay at the rock longer.
I think the real balancing needs to be the GT scout. I mean a ship that automatically mounts a nan? How can people possibly screw that up? Make it have second slot that requires the player to manually mount that sucker!

Rix miners seem alot tougher because most people buy Enh miners for them. Mining speed could come down a fraction I suppose, but if we do it's going to seriosuly effect their middle game I think. They need the speed as is to keep a steady amount of SR's out. 500 a pop is exspensive when you think about how many sectors they cover.

People seem to think Rix is cheese because they can kill @#(!. And they can't defend miners so it seems like rix is mining faster then they are (because theyhave less miners then rix does).
