Reading is good, but you need to play, too. Then read some more (re-read the stuff you read already, too), play some more, etc.

Read the acadamy, then fly. Realise you know nothing and re-read the acadamy. Keep that cycle up and you'll eventually get it

The wonder of this game is that it somehow manages to keep the over-intelligent masses entertained indefinitely. Regardless of in-game speciality or skill, the clever buggers just keep coming back. An intellectually demanding pass-time for intellectuals.
