Yes they did.
The original box had a sticker (or was it the manual?) which had a CD key which you had to enter to play. It started with FERAL.

I dare not aim that high. Wisconsin should be a sufficient promotion short of a lordship.

I noticed that the current version replaced all my wavs by .ogg . Would I get a better sound quality by copying the .wav over the .ogg?

Your disc access times would increase. If you've ever had lag when entering a sector because of hi-res textures, I would imagine it's something like that.

I hope you guys have more fun reading this than I had scanning it!
(I didn't really have any fun scanning it, but I got it done \o/ )
I have these in 2x PNG size, since I scaled them down to be somewhat of a respectable size. I'll probably scan the handbook soon too.
EDIT: I am a fool, because photobucket scaled them down for me. DO NOT WANT. Also, note the entry for interceptor.
BV EDIT: This can be downloaded from the academy website. It is in PDF form /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> on the download page.

Oh my God. I just spent two hours scanning that thing and slicing it together.
Here's the links :

Total 45MB /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
Doesn't look nearly as good as zecro's though - I didn't post process it and my leaflet is very much faded since it was sitting in open air.

I've tried it a few times, but it doesn't work for me. /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
I get the lobby music and the intro, but nothing during gameplay.
