IBS suck (Chrones and Ulcerative Colitis), severity is all over the map. I really hope yours turns out to be on the mild side of things. Take care.

Good luck Monk, hate to see ya go. Guess this means you can't watch Louisville games now. Not that they have given anyone stress lately. /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
20 Things Worth Knowing About Beer.....I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they get up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.
I enjoyed flying late-night games with you, Andy. I'm sorry to hear about the bad news but I hope it turns out to be a relatively tame case going forward. Same goes with the other fellers here with the condition. Please do hop in from time to time to catch up a lil bit. Best of luck to you and take care!

I don't think avoiding stress is a major part of Crohn's therapy, and certainly not acute stressors like Allegiance.
Avoiding stressful life situations like financial or family stress can worsen symptoms, but it's a lot more related to diseases like Irritable Bowel Disease than it is with Crohn's, and certainly not with ulcerative colitis. Personally, I wouldn't make my own patients retire from video games. They can be seen as a stress reliever just as well.
As Brood says, Remicade is about as good as it gets in medications (and it's my fav because of the name), though if you were recently diagnosed with Crohn's, I doubt you'll need it right away.
Congrats on the brown crap, mesial!
Reading lots and lots of information on the net often scares people who can't discern facts and who don't have a perspective on things.
Here is what I suggest for patient-reading: http://patients.uptodate.com/
There's always the rest like wikipedia and so on, but this link is specifically designed for patients. (Doctors like to control the information, and that's how they do it. Muahahaha!)

Man this sucks huge ass green donkey dick. Sorry to hear that man.Monkage wrote:QUOTE (Monkage @ Mar 15 2008, 08:49 PM) I've been away for a while.
I'm still alive, but unfortunately I am no longer able to fly.
After dealing with a "mystery illness" for going on 4 months I've finally been correctly diagnosed with crohn's disease and am on the mend. In order to avoid further surgery, however, I've been instructed to avoid all stress, which means I'm going to have to hang up my wings and say goodbye.
It sucks, but that's life I guess.
anyway, thanks for the good times.
Play hard,

Andy, it has always been a pleasure to fly with, and learn from you. Take care, and maybe in the future you may find a way to fly with us again.
Remember that disability does not mean inability. Take it from me, because I know this quite intimately.
Take care my friend
