I dont think you would wait more the usual, unless your the only one waiting...
But hey, combining kicking AFK players from server and 60 players max on a server, you would never have to wait.. there would always be a game going..

Regardless of whether AB is on or not, I'll make people wait to join until it equals up. (unless I'm getting bombed, then I let in whoever as quick as I can. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> )
In this case I'm playing the role of AB, but I'd rather have automation take care of that chore so I can focus on commanding over housekeeping. Autoaccept is the one true stack generator.
If AB on makes TrueSkill better then only AB games should count towards TrueSkill (Make Stats Count option works again.) With this corallary: If the community won't play with AB on for TrueSkill, then there won't be ranking data and the whole thing is a wash.
What if there was a concept of weighting TrueSkill such that AB games have more weight than non-AB games? Would this help encourage players to use AB more?

I voted no because even if AllegSkill was perfect there should still be a way to play games like XT versus world, or Cadets versus world, etc.
On joining a server it should not auto assign you to a team as that takes away your choice of faction/comm/teammates. It may very well turn out that auto-balance won't let you join the team you want but at least then you have the ability to try and get on the team you want or call for new comms, faction, flush, etc.
That said I would be for some strong incentives to have it turned on. Unless there is a compelling reason to turn it off, it should be on. Players should not be auto-assigned to a team but a game shouldn't be allowed to launch until balanced (even if both comms agree to launch in most cases). The algorithm should never prevent a player from joining both sides (that bug has been fixed in R4 btw and I assume won't be there at all in AS).Only games that are balanced should count towards a players posted stats. Whether or not unbalanced games count towards AS or not I'll leave up to the stats team.Ozi makes a great point (unrelated to AllegSkill), you should be able to tell from the lobby how many players are in NOAT (edit: on a given server).

Half of the game is spent on NOAT chatting and waiting to stack. I think if more people were FORCED out of the server at game start more people would play.

IT is getting out of topic, but a chat in the game list screen would be nice.

" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> I don't like being told what comm I must fly for, or what faction to fly. If I must fly for a , no fly for comm, or a faction I don't like. I won't fly.

Hmm, interesting results. As I mentioned I made this poll deliberately vague. I was under the impression that the community would have a fit at the notion of mandatory auto balance, regardless of it's detailied functioning. Either way, this is all great feedback.
Thanks!

Oh, and post-launch AB is still in testing, so there's little point in my posing the details until I'm happy it's functioning as it should. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

PS: Squad games... This will require that the "Squad game" setting is implemented.. to unset the AB. But this will also make players Abuse this setting in PUG's And/Or force squad members to wear a squad tag during squad games(depending on the design of the squad game setting implementation).

As long as the system limits joining based on both numbers and HELO things should work.
Automatically assigning sides should be a rarely used thing.

At the moment I would be happy just to see the return of "stacked game --> does not count" limits. Should solve many problems.
/edit I voted yes. We aren't getting any experience with the system now, since it's never in use.
