Anyway, I'm looking at Links. I like that page, I don't think it needs any sprucing up - but I'm wondering where the best place for it on the Main page is. It hardly seems like "Getting Started" material.
Try in the "Allegiance - Find out what it's all about" section. With a little explanation, it could fit.

QUOTE Also does each squad really need its own link on the Main Page? It takes up a lot of space which could be used for something else ... not sure what though.
We did it because it filled up that space without making the page bigger. Take the squads out and you have a huge hole in the page.

QUOTE Oh yeah, one last thing. Over on the Dwarf Fortress wiki they have a system to display a random quote on the Main Page. I tried to copy it to pull a random "Did you know" onto the Main Page, but failed miserably. If anyone knows how to get that going it would be great. I can tell you that copying the DF random thingy doesn't work
Like BP said, probably the new mediawiki version.

I had a closer look at this. I can get it to show different "Did You Know"s, but it'll be dependant on the date. (Maximum no of different did You Know's we could have would be 53, using {{CURRENTWEEK}} ).

But it'll just cycle through them in order. To get it to randomise it would seem we need parser functions, which appear to be downloadable here http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Parser...ns#Installation

+Edit. Done now. Question is, do we want it, and if so where?

I'd have done this myself, but the Main Page really needs not to have [edit]'s. You can't edit the page anyway (unless you're speshul) and the layout of the page borks it somehow.

Looks good, except there are too many dots. Fixing...

Fixed. What about now?

I just thought - does anyone want to come up with a picture for the main page? Some sort of banner to fit between "Welcome" and "Did you know"

Hmm.

Disparity between the logo and the header.

The logo says "Allegwiki" while the header says "AllegWiki". Which is official?

I now have my computer back to working condition. I can whip up some sort of banner if you'd like.

I have rearranged the links on the page.

Feedback? My own is, each box needs its colour tbh.

I used this and, lo and behold, colours!

I also have adapted the template colours for navbars.
