Bump.

Version 07.07.20 of the client is now available.

Please note if you want to try the training mission you need to download a small set of artwork files. We will get these added to the main beta zip bundle soon.

Anywhere you want. Just run Setup.exe after you extract. After you install feel free to delete the zip and the extracted files as the ones you need have been copied over to where they need to be.

hmmm, I can't get it to work.

Downloaded the R4Setup.exe in the first post of this thread and ran the setup. Tried running Allegtest and got the "This application failed to etc." so got the Visual C++ thing. Tried running Allegtest again and am now getting
"The Microsoft® Allegiance Game has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Blah blah. Send Error Report/Don't Send?"

Can still get into regular alleg fine though.

I'm really curious on whether some of the downloads are getting corrupted or some other problem is coming up. You are the second to have a problem.

First of all, if you haven't deleted R4Setup.zip or the extracted contents, could you send them to AEM@AllegTraining.com so I can verify they aren't corrupted? I guess there is also the possibility of a bad install though too. If it isn't too much trouble, could you zip up AllegianceTest.exe and freeimage.dll in your Allegiance folder along with the contents of the dev folder in artwork and send them as well? I'll test them on another machine to see if something is wrong with them.

You can try downloading Dogbone's manual zip and follow his instructions and see if that makes R4 work for you.

I dont get why you guys don't just use the VS bootstrapper for the alleg installer.

I did. Still no luck. email sent. I think I'll try completely uninstalling allegiance and starting from scratch.

Yeah, that worked.

Yeah, those files you sent me are fine. A reinstall of Allegiance worked, huh. Probably not related, but what mods, if any, did you have installed. R4 must not like something you had modified in R3..

Did you have a previous version of the R4 beta working? If so any idea what version, estimate if necessary?
