they still do damage and can take it too, especially from some enh level tech equivalent. Besides, the entire point is that your still pushing ops/teles on em, so you can take more space and their minrs from em.

Eh .... this is how all the other factions play an SY rush game. The whole point of IC SY (historically) is that you don't need a tech base and that you get MF faster than the other factions. Currently both "perks" are gone (well if you are smart that is /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> ). I haven't tried it but i think Giga, Belt, Nix and probably Gt get MF up faster/just-as-fast as IC nowadays.

asides that my point is that the whole LT SY with an option to buy med sy is insane, you pay for an upgrade which you get for free if you buy a techbase, insane options should not be available or stupid comms like me might choose them /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

stupid comms shouldn't be allowed to gets corvs by the 5 min mark either. And that's if you're pushing the con somewhere. You're asking to get corvs for simply rushing an sy out which you could invest in immediately. So 2-3 mins for the con to come out, build and voila, next miner load gives you vettes. So you need to spend another 10k. big whoop. At least then you have access to MFs and assault ships. Cry me a &%#*)& river.

why would anyone in their right mind buy a SY without buying a tech base as IC? Since you get Med SY for free when you buy a tech base all the money you spend on the upgrade is WASTED. You get a free tech base, free enh ships, and a free ref PLUS Med SY OR you click upgrade to Med SY and only get Med SY. You really think this is logical? You have two rants going on grim, I agree with your second one but I don't think anything can be done about that. I stand by my comments regarding corvs in light sy for IC.

Question: Is there even a Lt. Class upgrade in the IC sy?


I always thought you only had the option for Med. Class upgrade when you built an IC SY. Without a techbase you have nothing and have to invest in med. class to get MF + corvs (and all that other fancy jazz). With a techbase you have access to corv right off the bat...correct?



To get corvs you need (as IC):

SY - Med. Class Upgrade

OR

SY - No purchase needed
+
Techbase - No purchase needed

I just suffered through a game with IC SUP and SY... I could not believe my eyes... NO Missile Frigate for IC? They gotta pay 18.000 for the med upgrade? So much for IC... And people complain about galvable tele...

ok, the game i was in was just a 3v3 on hilo dreg exp then sy vs ic exp

we got hvys, stole their mini 3, they generally killed our miners, but i always had enough to get another, not much expanding.
but i was 5k from getting emp missiles for my HTT's when they used mf on us... the second time, 1'st time they fired all their nukes through the hole in the ic exp after killing our gar and then ran out of nukes.

Not for DN. You purchase Medium class to get Light class for free, or get a Tech Base and also get Light class for free. You must spend money for Med class either way.

so if you want to SY rush, you just buy the SY, then keep the 10k from the techbase and put it into med class

techbase yields lt class, not med.
