Lindy, I understand your concern about releasing this peice by peice, but you say it affects your gameplay? How so? Stacking isn't any worse than it has been for the last several years. So what if people feel like they are better than what they really are because they are on a leaderboard? I mean seriously, Culmination, in the top 5? Give me a break! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
Now most opponents of the balancing system will jump in here and say, "Well look at those teams the 'balancing system' gave us, those DEFINITELY aren't even, its broken, trash the whole thing! And XYZ's ELO is higher than ABC's? LMFAO, those devs need to get a clue!" Again to those people I ask, if it doesn't work and games are still stacked, have we lost anything? Aside from people not being able to stack with the particular people they want to stack with nothing else will have been changed. My money is on this thing working better than our current system (which is no system) in the near future.
The balance feature, for those of have actually been testing, has been more successful in creating even games than anything else we have tried. There will always be different philosophical camps in the player base, but no one has been able to demonstrate exactly how you create even games other than in posts or on paper. ELO, 'balance button', those are two separate tools that need to be functioning in order to get this to work in the long run. I see no problem with working on them concurrently rather than perfecting one without the other, because inevitably there will be many 'tweaks' that need to be made in the future.
ELO is misunderstood
