what PP has been is a bad attempt - some of the factions were crippled at birth because of their design - to artificially bring about conflict. they should have just implemented system exploitation for player guilds / companies etc and put in some form of development that way.
Thing is, we already have EVE for that, and EVE has a ton of things that FD really want to avoid.

true, though agri thinks that the reason EVE has some of those features is that they make sense

agri just opines that if you are going to have a mechanic whereby a faction can exploit / "own" a system, then its better that that be a player faction rather than some imposed npc thing. how great would e:d be if you could get a load of mates, fly 2000 ly off into the great inky blackness in some settlement drive and start your own colony?

PP gave me a 50M salary and 10M+ per hour bounty hunting :)

That being said, I'm bored of it already. Actually bored of E:D in general, feel like I've already seen all there is to see. Will probably kit up an explorer and casually go see the sights. Kinda wanted a minimal Annie with a 40Ly range, to try to see stars outside of normal Asp range at the limits of space, but not sure I want to grind to the 300M it will require. So IDK. Back to Alleg.

Hear,hear!

You could also have real leadership, and real politics. Dissension and infighting, and what you did do as a group would be so much more meaningful. E;D needs to learn to capitalize on its own strengths, the freedom it (tries to) gives players to generate their own content.

My updated thoughts about Elite i sunk about 120 hours in this game.

I am currently in a mk3 cobra with 7 million bucks spent on upgrades.

I have owned a viper mk3, diamond back scout and sidey so far.

The game is almost excellent it has some faults and quirks but the experience is awesome.

With the Cobra i am able to combat, trade, smuggle, and mine if i so wished.

Powerplay is a bit meh, there are not many perks for multirolling players.

My current goal is to get an Imperial Clipper (I blame raveen for showing off his Clipper while bounty hunting with me).

It can be a grind at the beginning with a sidewinder, 1000 credits and being spawned in the federation space.

add me CMDR Blacksun@Zenith

dudes, elite dangerous (arena) is free to buy this weekend! this is pretty much allegiance death match except aim isn't nearly as important but ship system management, power routing etc, and some allegiance reflexes (turning flight assist off, turning around and blasting a pursuer who never thought this maneuver was possible) make things pretty fun! i don't see myself playing this for very long though so good thing it's free :P

'Cept Terran, turning flight assist off to turn is literally the ONLY maneuver in Elite:Dangerous...

Come to the dark side, Terran, come and join Star Citizen.

That's how allegiance bit the bullet. Ruined the code, and the community dropped by half every six months going forward.

It's coming along quite nicely, but yeah it's just an alpha, and a long way yet to the finished game. But I'll never play Elite again, I think. Or, it will take a lot longer than SC will take to build, for Elite to improve to the point where I'd be interested in trying it again. Sorry Black! It just wasn't my cup of tea.
