I'm really trying not too be, I've tried to contain my frustration and have occasionally vented especially as regards to people who slight my ideas for the simple pleasure that they enjoy being negative or because of their dislike of them or me. Honestly I realize that people don't have to agree with me, just like I don't have to agree with them. Anyone should have the right to express their opinion.

That's what all this is about, opinions. There is no fact that any system we use will be able to express certainty that it will take into account 'how I am terming (in part) experience'. Let's be realistic, for example there are many people saying that humainty is causing Global Warming, that may well be the case and there is much data to support that conclusion, it is not a fact by any means. The same can be applied to other "truths" we believe, that there is anything beyond our solar system, that there is a god, or the very idea that gravity works like it does.

The invasion of Iraq last decade, many Americans were 100% certain that it was just and reasonable... and even if Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (wmd's btw can be created in less than a month for a third world nation, or bought in days), even if Iraq did have nukes there was still a very clear process of International Law that was broken. My point is, no matter how much evidence or how strongly belief is... one way or another it can all mean the same as a banana cream pie, very tasty but not always good for you.

Am I correct in my thoughts on AllegAge (or time-in game) is different then a rating system, I might be, it can't be proven for certain that I'm right or wrong, beause it's not a fact that Helo/Elo/TrueSkill/AllegSkill takes it into account... it's all fuzzy. Could it be that AllegSkill will do a good enough job that it won't make a huge difference- that's possible, Baker isn't a fool, he's worked extremely hard and put a lot of thought into it... it's quite reasonable to say that my concerns are nothing to worry about... I still have the legitimate right to voice them.

If anyone was unduly offended by my comments, then accept my apologies if you care to, as they're sincerly offered.

I still maintain my right to disagree with peoples opinions from time to time... or not. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

lol.... as terr said on #rt: "if it was logic you were using we could not agree/disagree". the fact that you are using the word logic and agree/disagree on the same sentence proves that you are not sure of what you are talking about, and that you are indeed pulling numbers out of thin air without any backup.

the wildcard 'you can agree or not with me' is only pulled as a last resort on most conversations, once you have been proven beyond stupidity that you cannot convince your audience you come with this stupid trick. way to go, credibility-= 100

. . . Too much to back read. I don't see anything bad here!

EDIT:
QUOTE (19:13:07) Evincar: they start explaining a bit about AllegSkill
(19:13:22) Evincar: and baxter starts trying to steal attention
(19:13:33) Evincar: by talking @#(!
(19:13:37) Evincar: that's basically what happened
(19:13:46) Evincar: then a fully fledged flamefest[/quote]

Baxter, if this is true (even a little) I think you should just ignore this thread. For SRM?

Certainly not trying to 'steal' attention, nor talk crap. I do have the right to voice my opinion. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Personaly attack +1. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

400k is a lot of money. /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />

I won't be buying something that expensive, that's just what the average is coming down to, hopefully more. Hard to say though, the city is having problems and is discussing delaying some developers projects in order to allow the city time to catch up on much needed infrastructure demands. Besides, it's not like I have 100's of thousands of dollars lying around, it's called a mortgage (French for 'death grip' aptly enough). /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

See that's just it, I don't pretend to be friendly, I just am, with an Irish temper to boot. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

And again, you apparenly think I care I have enough for at least 5% of a mortgage, that's like nothing money-wise. To qualify for a mortgage of a quarter million you only need to earn about 30k a year, and considering the average salary in Alberta is probably double that, it's certainly not bragging. That's like saying someone who bought a loaf of bread and a bottle of milk is bragging how rich they are. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Seriously, this could be a very accurate ranking system. Get cracking spidey

I can't help giggling a little when I read the title of this thread and the what forum section it's in and how heated this has gotten. Spidey must have forgotten turn off the rant-genorator on rant-belt.

The Lord of the Rants indeed my good man
