Rix v IC (or Belts not sure)
I am on IC/Belts
Both teams have hvy ints. We see a miner mining at their op next to our op sector. We flood that sector with 6(ish) ints...the Miner D launches 10 ints...but they launch no nans. We blaze miner down but just when the miner is at last HP, the D pods us all...thy D celebrates the victory using various 'Taunts' VC on All...so they were busy spamming and I ram my pod into Miner...Miner dies...we see 4 ppl getting the boot.
ROFL that was truly epic for me

Silly 6 team game with ridiculous money settings.
I'm commanding a Rix team, and we're doing decently with hvy ints, capping stuff, although there are other teams with better footholds on the map/attacking force.
So, one of the team's we're attacking across the map is commanding by Yauora, he's giga, and offering me tonnes of cash if we stop attacking him/ally. (they're in pretty big trouble at this point in the game)
So we agree and focus our attacks elsewhere. Yauora wants to make sure his scout doesn't get podded en route, so we a TP pushed into one of our op sectors and both launch in scouts.
Neither of us have used Cashboxes before, so he's hitting his "drop probe" button and they're deploying. I try to drive up to pick them up..... BOING! They bounce me off. I hadn't looked at my cashflow beforehand, so I didn't notice any difference... but it still seemed wrong.
He does it again, and I try as an experiment shooting it down. No dice.
We try this variations of getting the cashbox another 2 or so times, until it's understood that cashboxes are supposed to be ejected cargo picked up then returned to base.
About 25k was lost in space.
Another 30k or so was delivered to us... Yiggz is still dropping cash for me while his last garrison gets nuked by capships, although he pretty much paid our way for maxed out SBs.
edit: not the "funniest thing" as per topic.. But I thought it was funny anyway.

Dude its the list of things you get booted for.
Anyway recently I saw a good one. Turns out you can be booted because of your commanders plan. Conspiracy. As Brood said "I´ve got a plan" and booted Banshee right after that.
