Steam SDK also supports a notification system so that we can say: When a game goes over 4x4 players (or some such value), broadcast a notification to all steam clients for people who own the game that a game is in session and needs more players. If you're like me, Steam is running 99% of the time on my machine anyway. Having it bounce up and go: "yo! There's a game on, let's go!" would be sweet! :)

As I told Fishbone, this whole thing is giving me a metal taste in my mouth. Even if it doesn't get us a landslide of new players, just to finally be able to you guys these features is very exciting! At least you'll have an easy way to see when a game is on.

As far as key maps go, someone post a link to the keymap you want to set the default to. I will update it while I am working on the other changes.

For high rez textures, is there a reliable way to reproduce the issue? If someone can send me the steps, I will take a look at this as well.

Thanks all!

I think it would be great if we could get some of the developers as well as some of the wise elders, administrators, and zone leads on Teamspeak this weekend to identify, prioritize, and volunteer for various tasks for the STEAM effort. I'll start by volunteering to pour myself a tall glass of some random, brown liquor and chat with some of you knuckleheads! Whose next?

Awesome news! Now I just need a new computer and hopefully be back to help with stuff.

I agree with the high-res and keymap comments. Just bring all the eye candy and newbie friendly stuff before influx of people.

My heartfelt congratulations on this monumental achievement. :)

Most game only get one release. This is the game's third. Some friendly armchair devloper advice to make sure you don't squander it:

Steam account integration. People shouldn't even see ACSS at all. You double click on the game, and it launches, and you're in game -- with your Steam display name. If you don't do this, you might as well not bother.
Market the $#@! out of this. $#@! being quiet. You gotta market this as the actually unique event in game history that this might very well be. Get in touch with Ars Technica or Gamasutra or what have you.
There is more than just Steam. If, for whatever reason you can't go on Steam in a timely fashion, nothing should stop you from distributing the game through itch.io immediately.

I disappear for 10 years (law school, marriage, kids, divorce, restart IT career) ... and what do I have to greet me when I check back in... WOW!!!

So not a developer, but I will look at Github and get a build to work.

And I need to read up on forums, reinstall, and see where the current state is.

You guys have been carrying this for years .. Steam sounds awesome. Not sure what the costs are with that though. Is the plan to release free? Freemium with squads? Kickstater to get the conversion to Steam? And maybe time to stand up a server again .. hopefully without the lag problem I had with the last ones...

Beside BackTrack - who are the leaders? Maybe a list of 'stuff to be done'? Seem like you are the defacto manager at the moment...

Again - Wow ... Nice job on never giving up. This is awesome.
