What amazed me about DrS was that he could win with any team, he'd take a team of complete noobs and beat seasoned vets. The only person that came close to him was Grav with his RT nubs.

So many stand out. On their day, when their heads were in the zone, and the wind was in the right direction they could all have justfiably claimed to have been The One.
I used to like to hangout and play with the characters who made the game fun. Actually with hindsight, the blend was what made the game.
If I attempt to list, I will inevitably forget many of the most important players to me. So many names half remembered who contributed to exceptionally great times.
I can tell you who wasn't the greatest though, with remarkable certainty. This guy.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, will make violent revolution inevitable. John F. Kennedy.
One thing I learned about DrS when I met him in San Diego and went hiking with him, he took nothing seriously most of all not this game. One of the smartest people I've ever met. The reason he was so good at commanding is because he knew the #s behind everything. Before people took it seriously, he knew that on med/med/scare it would take X amount of sectors to get hvy ints and htts then destroy the other team.
As Ducky and Shizzy said, I would rather have a simple list of people who made the game enjoyable on my team rather than "the best" any day of the week because when you get down to it why do we play? To win? Some sure, but not me, I play for the enjoyment of it. Being able to play with those who I enjoy being around. Main reason I don't play much anymore, most of those people have moved on.
I look back at the AZ then at my LWMS days before the SysX merge and remember some of the funnest times I ever had. Long before I knew the theorycrafting behind it!
