Considering only the site information, except PK, all other squads have at least 10 active members. So honestly if you want to play squad games, its not the size of your squad that is blocking you of it. I dont mind the proposal of disbanding the smaller squads or doing a pick pool for some events, but squad games tend to keep a certain skill lvl, wich most of the players that are in pugs dont have, wich would kill its purpose, and unless you mix both of the biggest squads, it will be a total cluster$#@! with one side totally owning it.
I believe the problem isnt having X number of squads, but ppl not wanting to play squad games, because of X or Y factor. Doing a merge of minor squads, or a blue vs yellow event, wouldn't solve the problem, just mask it. If you really wanna have squad games with big numbers, convince your oldtimes and leadership to get on the game and play it, make them be active. I dont remember last time I´ve seen someone with a BS, MEC, PK tag online, and that gives one dead impression. I also believe that the biggest (or most active, as you prefer) active squads, should put a setback on recruiting policies and leave the future, or old talents that may show up to play, stick to one of the minor squads, considering they already have enough talent and numbers to make up the loss.

i doubt they would agree to that, and i doubt anyone with experience in the game and knowing the quality of the small teams/squads would join any of them ..feels like trying to go see a very bad movie to see if people can think otherwise about it..the movie is still bad and even if some get interested, they will still think its bad and leave the cinema.Archangelus wrote:QUOTE (Archangelus @ Mar 30 2014, 11:55 AM) Considering only the site information, except PK, all other squads have at least 10 active members. due to the lack of interest in modern people about old games or worse, this genre, sci fi space stuff, i find it hard to achieve such goals ...even worse it will be once star citizen launches.. even less reason to play alleg (this would think the modern gamer, not me... or us here in the forums i suppose) maybe we should completely shut off squad games and focus on yello blue or some other kind of event where anyone can join since that is what we need, not squad games that new players cant see or be a part of, a large game wich can be joined by anyone..adding wednesday as an event day is good, yet people works or has stuff to attend to on weekdays.. maybe 2 events per sunday could be better? althou a bit long and probably tedious..
This was only the second squad game since last May.
Agreed that squads are not a viable way to make teams, but NI and Sysx have survived, so they should get to play each other. People not in Sysx or NI have to deal with the rare Sundays when there isn't a community event. Granted it's not optimal for getting new players to join, but we're talking about a very small, intermittent window.
After AW5 we are going to have to decide once and for all what to do with squads. It's a tricky situation with a lot of unknown consequences. It's highly likely that we will use some sort of team building function ala YvB and AW5. Squads may remain in tact, but just wont use them to organize games anymore. (Unless a bunch of people get active and actually do some recruiting/training which seems extremely unlikely.)
