Why do squads exist? Squads exist because people enjoy hanging around and fly together. Is it the same if you 'forced' to join a squad? No.

Maybe we should put, for example, Masta and Drizzo into the same squad, just for the lolz.

You just have yellow vs blue, or Mars vs Jupiter vs Saturn vs Venus, like Allegiance Wars 4. AW4 was fun, but these teams weren't squads.

This is exactly the sort of thing that the senate should have been telling people about in regular updates to the community. Instead you had a vote, decided on something that never happened and then it gets revealed later in a thread.

This proposed change in the rules cannot be considered enforceable without it being published in some way or another.

But then we'd just be more handsome and more talented than everyone else.

What NJ says is true. But it's also true of most other multiplayer games out there. You have a few MEGA popular games that get tons of players, and everything else gets a trickle.

(lol rav will you ever shut up about regular updates? YOU WANT UPDATES ON NOTHING!? Granted a Masta level amount of annoyance does eventually yield results (It's been proven) but at what cost to ones health?? and which things should get the most attention? Personally I focused on the default key mapping but that white whale proved UN $#@!ING KILLABLE. STARTING TO TALK LIKE MR.C NOW TOO)

And... It was mentioned in an update to the community. http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...showtopic=68125

Regardless, I didn't press that it be enforced because I don't think it's that important... and there were many other things that needed and still need to be fixed. Sadly there are only a couple (and in this case one) people that have the access and know how to make many of these fixes (default key mapping, acss tool bar changes, prompts to training videos/documentation, etc), but they are often busy. Backtrak isn't paid to do this so I don't blame him! but puts us in a hard spot.

I should stop reading these threads haha.

Seems like this one got lost, there was a topic within Senate Office and there was a poll, but there was no "Make it so!" if I remember correctly. :(

oh god

(Apparently Masta level annoyance was needed for this job whether you like it or not.)

retroactive:

please make so everything we voted on and passed, published, as well as just generally agreed upon

Actually, yes. I know that sounds dumb but I think that you should at least be honest about what the people the community voted for are doing. It was easier when I was a ZL because it was obvious what I was doing but the later ZL period had an issue of a lack of activity and communication that the New Senate has replicated.

Not our problem now Dome :) It's fun now, you get to sit back and watch someone else make the same mistakes without it being your fault. FWIW I think you did as good a job as anyone could have expected.

It's a bit surprising none of the basic community improvements were done in the last couple of years.

1. Servers that have under 100 ping for most players would be nice, you expect people to play a 10+ year game, have bad lag and play often? Get real. Oh yea, I offered a full server package to Dome at no charge, good work getting that done Dome.

2. Ranking system... any ranking system at all really, there is no ranking system currently because people aren't fraking ranked. Yea I mentioned that, good work on finding a unique solution or using my suggestions to actually have ranks.

3. Ranking system... that works! ha. Even any of the tweaks on the current system would have done something, people don't like games where their ranks don't change and I presented enough evidence on the concept. Just because certain people don't care about it doesn't mean the other 99% should suffer because AllegSkill is "accurate" (what a fraking laugh, have a look at it now frakers!).

4. Admins, what happened that we all missed that took up so much time in the last two years, because I just can't really understand how so little was done publically so I'm guessing people either decided not to do anything or had lots of work on super secret stuff.

5. Zone Leads, Senators, umm, exactly what the frak, those that are in positions of authority were mostly just there to ensure the game dies, because not only did most of those people do absolutely nothing, they also did everything possible to prevent others from doing anything.

I'd say more but for now the above is the constructive points. :bang:
