Same way as drone turrets do already. They treat allies like they were on the same team (and do not shoot them if friendly fire is on even).

A use for "Turrets, attack my target" VC (command) - to override their default of targeting your target (allowing you to change targets).
They should consider their effectiveness against a target in prioritising targets - bomber turrets would then target ships rather than the base the pilot has targeted.

With drone AI, would they really target what the pilot targets as a default? Granted with pure drone AI they would prioritise missiles, which isn't very useful for a bomber.

Cant we lock the possibility of getting AI turrets tied to game sizes?
This would prevent big games with such cheesy thingy.

On the contrary, a drone shooting down possible df or hunter spikes would be quite useful.

Sort of... except it will manage to maybe shoot down one missile per volley. Personally I'd hope the AI turrets would prioritise fighters that are in range than try to shoot down dumbfires.
