Is there a way to stop podded enemies from ramming a constructor or a miner so they would have to fly slowly home?
I would also like some more opinions from my last question as I feel it differs from one commander to another.
Yay, my second page, PARTY

I try to inform on teamchat with VCs about:
1. enemy miners and and cons to get some miner O going
2. enemy bomb runs
3. enemy miner O
I try to use VCs more because text can be easily overlooked.

Yeah this is a thin line as some comms could find that annoying

Regarding your first question, it's always best to put the information out there. You don't have to tell your team 'TP CON TO RESNIK EVERYONE GO NOW,' because that could anger a commander who has a different task he'd like the team on, but just saying 'tp con to resnik' is enough to alert your team and let the comm decide from there.
I don't know of too many commanders who will come down on someone for providing some basic intel.
Sidenote: Beyond telling the direction of miners/cons, it's always good to provide more information like whether or not the con/miner is on the rock, if they are docking, if they are full, empty, etc. That will better inform your team as to if/when it should act.
Second question: For lulz, nanning a pod as it attempts to ram a drone is very entertaining. Granted your not wasting your own time in the process. I've done this to Terran many-a-time and it's made my night of Allegiance complete.

Not currently, but when R6 launches, I think you can. Though I don't recall if its only that you can see if your team's miner is full but not the enemy's. Would need someone else to confirm or deny that.Vazix wrote:QUOTE (Vazix @ Apr 11 2012, 09:51 AM) Can you see if a miner is full?
As for now, it's more of figuring out if the miner is going to a rock, or if it's heading to dock/unload at ref somewhere.

Nope, not even your own. Hence the need for observant pilots to inform their team.
The only way to tell is to observe a miner leaving a rock that seems to not be fully drained, and even then, the miner could have left because of an opposition teams order (or AI automatically retreating.) After a while though, you will get a feel for how low miners bring the He3 bar on a rock before they return to base, but you need to remember that this is variable depending on the faction of the miner, the size of the map, and the games cash settings.

I don't want that time to be a @#(!-storm of hate and schadenfreude.
my pod has been the nan target on more than one occasion, personally, i love it. theres nothing more satisfying than being able to hold up your opponents econ in a mere pod... with the help of enemy nans, my pod has easily been able to keep miners from docking over and over again. (giga miners are especially susceptible).
in practice, nanning pods doesnt work. i can suicide on miners anytime i want by going full speed with your pod. no amount of nanning can prevent that. if you wanna stay alive and keep miners from docking though, just ram it with less speed and hope they nan u.

Hmmm... I've seen miners dock despite a pod ramming it. But I may be mistaken. Occasionally, a pod won't be able to ram a con at full speed and will try again, again not at full speed. So nanning it when before it tries again is still fun.fwiffo wrote:QUOTE (fwiffo @ Apr 11 2012, 10:50 AM) my pod has been the nan target on more than one occasion, personally, i love it. theres nothing more satisfying than being able to hold up your opponents econ in a mere pod... with the help of enemy nans, my pod has easily been able to keep miners from docking over and over again.
