There's such a large number of commanders who either leave AA on always accept noobs so they noob stack their team, and then they cry about stack afterwards
not to mention you're pretty much guaranteeing that the noobs on your team will be whored mercilessly by the stack you've created by noob stacking yourself
noob stacking your team is just going to make them quit
and it ruins the game for everyone
start banning people for it.
Ban Reason: Noob stacking your team so they lose every game, get frustrated, and quit.

WRONG!cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Feb 17 2012, 07:42 PM) Games are not imbalanced because we don't know who's better than who. Games are imbalanced because stackers want to stack, and comms let them get away with it. Poor comms who leave autoaccept on are the worst.
Leave the ranking system alone. Chances are high you'll just $#@! it up even worse by trying to fix it.
Games are imbalanced because the comms are...period!
If the comms were balanced the mor newbs/voobs would be too confuzzled to stack.
/I edit all of my posts so you people never know when I make a mistake...ha-ha!

Remove ranking for everyone but newbies, or have some other way to identify newbies.Elzam V. Branstein wrote:QUOTE (Elzam V. Branstein @ Feb 17 2012, 09:21 PM) Remove ranking. Then the ranking problem will be non-existent.
Another idea is to hide ranks... It could help remove the human factor, stack complaining etc. Not saying it's necessarily a good idea, just throwing it out there.
The majority of people who have pretty solid arguments against basically.... every idea any of you come up with around here.... have finally given up on arguing, this many years later. because you'll just never get it.
as for me I'm just too stupid to give up on the things I know I should

I really love this brand of elitism. You know what? I wasn't around for those solid arguments, nor was a large part of the community. Newbies will NEVER get that you're supposed to do (insert complicated thing here) because they're not the same people. If those arguments really exist and actually apply, quote them and be done with it. Don't expect everyone to have trawled through five years of posts.Sheriff Metz wrote:QUOTE (Sheriff Metz @ Feb 17 2012, 11:29 PM) The majority of people who have pretty solid arguments against basically.... every idea any of you come up with around here.... have finally given up on arguing, this many years later. because you'll just never get it.

I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.
Pretty much the "everyone" I speak of are the Ron Paul's in the community, that are continuously proven right about every thing they have predicted over the years, even though they are ignored by basically everyone.
But they are in limited supply because Ron Pauls are like 100 years old and in need of care.
ie
This long and drawn out attempt at creating an accurate ranking system in order to create balanced games
people with brains would say - and have said for years - this attempt in general is just going to discourage some of the most important people from playing
(i.e. Weed, Aarm, Noir (RIP), other people who draw large crowds of people into the game because they're fun to play with)
guess who doesn't play anymore
and guess what game has an almost insignificant player base as a product of it
I guarantee if any or all of those 3 mentioned people started playing again, game population would surge.
Yet the morons are still going to try to argue that imbalanced teams are what's going to kill the game.
When in reality, having lost some of the most important STACKERS in the game, is the worst thing that could have happened to it
since this became abandonware, this game flourished the most during the period of time in which there was the MOST core imbalance and the MOST team imbalance
that's not to say that team stacking is good for the game
but when you punish people for being good at something, they go be good at something else
and it's the overly competitive few that are the soul of any game
once they lose interest, the game dies
in conclusion - people are punished for being bad by constantly getting owned. if they don't like it they can get better, or they can leave.
when you punish people for being good, they can't get worse. they just leave.
and when they leave, everybody leaves.
