My apologies, I thought I was reading a reason for not advertising the game as "when we fix it then we advertise". I just thought all games have issues. I was not aware that it still had the old techincal issues. Are we talking about the dreaded D-Play? I thought the old microsoft code was no longer in this game? I was not a techy then or now so I did not participate in those discussions. And for your information I did not gripe about how long it was taking to fix. It was MS. I understood recoding MS was a nightmare. All I saw was the possitive results to gameplay. So I can not comment on anything "techincal". I just took an opportunity to bring up a possible way to keep players. I hope you don't mind. But now you have my curiosity up. What IS the issue with intel chips. I'm running intel and amd. I don't see a differance in gameplay.Dorjan wrote:QUOTE (Dorjan @ Jan 22 2011, 05:02 AM) I didn't say gameplay issues. I said techincal issues with the game engine working on intel chips and the faffing about you need to do to get the game installed. Nothing about gameplay at all.
Does the game advertise itself at all?

Something about the mobility chipsets, not 100% sure as I've never suffered from it. The main issue which we've almost finished is a poor installing process where it takes a good 75% of people who try alleg more than one try to get the game working.Zekros wrote:QUOTE (Zekros @ Jan 22 2011, 03:52 PM) My apologies, I thought I was reading a reason for not advertising the game as "when we fix it then we advertise". I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

Remember, what I say is IMO always. If I say that something sucks, it actually means "I think it sucks" OK?

Except the big about dorjan being jelly, that's just spidey's ego.

Well bless u for fixin that. lol That 75% needs to come down. Glad to hear you guys have a handle on it. Come to think of it. I tried to reinstall a few years ago and there was an issue with my machine. Can't even remember the problem that time. You see even old players drop for a time if it doesn't go well. lol So Kudos to the team. No really that was not the reason for my departure. Life got in the way. Keep up the good work.Dorjan wrote:QUOTE (Dorjan @ Jan 22 2011, 10:11 AM) Something about the mobility chipsets, not 100% sure as I've never suffered from it. My proposal (ask and answer questions about the game here) went mostly ignored as a site adraumvogel wrote:QUOTE (raumvogel @ Jan 21 2011, 07:58 PM) I have tried to advertise by posting on other forums, but most block the link says "no game ads".![]()

Many people won't recommend a broken game, it exposes the game in its worst state. Wait a couple of years until it's fixed.Alien51 wrote:QUOTE (Alien51 @ Jan 26 2011, 05:25 PM) Community members should start soliciting RTS and space game sites.
[15:25] <BBT_> oh, so da vinci's mona lisa isn't his work?
[15:25] <+fuh-zz> No, he simply put effort into it.
[15:25] <BBT_> are you really that retarded?

Sry can't pass that up. This was a Microsoft game in the beginning. It has been fixed and fixed and fixed. I have been away for several years due to personal reasons. Came back to hear old discussions about new problems or old not sure. I have ADD so all I can say from the few games I have played in. 1. If server lags then bad server. Solution get a better server. 2. If player drops then connection issue. Question; How often. Once for me in about 5 games. I don't even know why I dropped. Haven't dropped In 4 games since. I have not reviewed tech issues as I probably would not understand the solutions required to address them. Is it my understanding that there is something in the intel machaines causing problems that can't be duplicated and this is running players to other games? So no one is going recommend this game because its thought Its going to take 2 years to fix? Just askin.jbansk wrote:QUOTE (jbansk @ Jan 27 2011, 07:47 AM) Many people won't recommend a broken game, it exposes the game in its worst state. Wait a couple of years until it's fixed.

jbansk and zecros you are both wrong. The game isn't "broken"....we've been playing it and having fun with it for over 10 years. All online multiplayer games have lag issues. That's just part of reality. Just because a few computers with certain onboard Intel graphics controllers have to be run in windowed mode to play..DOESN'T MEAN THE GAME IS BROKEN,OMG, AND WE SHOULDN'T ADVERTISE IT! ( the large caps "panic" is yours, I'm not yelling at you).
