It's not that much @#(!, some features (prime example is the new stats collecting feature) was not coordinated with other groups.

Some features/changes are not finished (AllegSkill balancing) and some changes are maybe not comprehensible for others.

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

FA.o's beta is up and running and has been properly since last week.

It should not interfere with anyone's ability to play on the regular servers anymore, which I posted last week.

I've got a version with one patchfix ready to roll out but I didn't want to disrupt today as I didn't have the time to test it fully before putting it up.

The reason the beta news thread didn't go up on time was because I had too many firefox tabs open and I forgot to hit "Submit" on the open my post in the news thread.

We can't test it unless we can find a way to get people on it. I don't want to sit there waiting for people that aren't going to show up. :o

FAO R6 beta is not working for people who obtain it through ASGS AutoUpdate (it seems to require some artwork files that were nonexistent in R5).
The crash occurs when either you enter a game in progress and join a team, or you are on a team and the game is launched (it crashes as the countdown begins).
The program doesn't crash outright but pops up an error message with the missing file error. If you close that error box and try to go back to allegiance it will pop up another error for another missing file. Once it goes through the missing files it will just stay non-responsive.

After our commander rushes an OP to their home: I launch AB then enemy comm AB launches. I'm not giving any names.

mathchamp, see the old news posts and tech support forum for those fixes.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, as a ZL we have two choices, delete Imago's posts and let him keep spamming them. Or, let you decide what you want to do.

Imago's programs/files/website/games/etc. are not supported by FAO.

Yes, he bypassed ASGS and taught other people how to do it.
Yes, he left the loopholes in the game code itself.
Yes, he is the one who quit and left in a fit of rage (And did have an open invite back, but passed and burnt his bridges)

We think the majority of this community is intelligent enough to make their own choice.

'nuff said.

NOTE: This is a post by me, not an 'official post' ;)

I'm confused - did imago know about the loopholes allowing ASGS to be bypassed and choose not to fix them while he was developing for FAO?
