As they should, if they wish. I much prefer mumble to Teamspeak, and RT will continue to use it.

The poll was more about what the community should point new players for, and what we should say is the chat application across the wiki.

If the community wants to use Teamspeak - start getting onto Teamspeak for PUG games, all the time.

It's good for retention, it makes the game more fun, you can explain concepts to new players.

Do it.

You're kidding? Then I updated the wiki page for nothing. A whole minute of work wasted

The poll isn't finished technically, but Teamspeak is ahead (not hugely, but it is ahead).

The only [most] people who want to keep TS are the people who don't want change.

And we know the community is filled with them :P

Really? VICTORY!

I was giving Mumble the whereabouts of 33% of votes.

But that doesn't make much sense, when we talk TS we mean TS3 and that would still require "change".
Because we are talking about TS3 right?!?

Not unless aarm decides to upgrade the TS server. Or someone decides to provide a Ts3 server for the community....

im not really sure the direction the poll was to take us in anyway, or why it was even conducted. Everyone ive seen in the past couple months has directed newbies to mumble since sia started hosting it. I very much dislike ts3 as its a pain in the ass to set up. Sysx certainly isnt going to go back to ts2, nor will anyone else i'd imagine who has tried both. I'm grateful to aarm for hosting all his @#(! for so long but i really dont see any point in continuing to use an inferior product, and especially advertising so when nobody is even on it anyway

I don't understand the logic sometimes: we are players who really love to play a game called Allegiance. They are not enough to play on two servers so we have to share one main server everyday (which is even almost empty sometimes). And instead of trying to standardize things, one day I read that some people want to create another Allegiance and another day, that we have 3 different ways of communication.
We better should agree on how we want to play.

Personnally, I would prefer an open-source program (Mumble), but I have both (ts too) and I don't mind using one or another if we all use the same. I can change my habit if it's for the community. We shouldn't be selfish. But once we got the solution, we can encourage commanders to use that on the main and everybody would have no excuse not to use it; and newbies and novices will improve faster (and probably won't give up so easily). How do you expect new players to communicate if we can't even agree on what we should use? It's not Urban Terror, we don't have thousands of players, we just have a small community.

Please, make things simple.
