My offer to ease your clans integration into Allegiance is sincere.EvilTesla-RG wrote:QUOTE (EvilTesla-RG @ Apr 15 2010, 08:56 PM) Eventully the small core left of our great clan finaly realized that we need a new game. And here I am.
I REALLY don't want my clan to die again. But I feel powerless to stop it.

I don't want that time to be a @#(!-storm of hate and schadenfreude.
Avoid MW like you would avoid Ebola please.

Thank you. I may take you up on that offer. However, first we have to decide on wheather we want to play alliegence or not.
It will take awhile.
Guitarism, do you have a reason for saying that? Or are you just joking.
Oh, yea, our forums are http://rebelgeniusclan.freeforums.org/index.php

To be fair guys, I don't think this is the same attempt as a squad creation that we normally see. We normally get a day one newb that decides that he will be the next SysX/XT, starting from scratch. This is a guy that wants to bring back a group of players that don't currently play the game. Unlike most of the day 1 newbies, this guy can clearly put together a complete sentence. This isn't the normal situation, so I don't think it deserves all of the normal responses (We do this every couple of months, EvilTesla).
So to go at this from a different angle, see if this makes sense. Is Allegiance the game that can "reboot" your clan? Possibly. The game is notorious for a very steep learning curve. I can't honestly say that everyone in your clan will be able to pick the game up, let alone be interested. If you manage to pull this off though, there are few games that would be better for the purpose. Considering that the average age of the squads is nearing 9 years, there is definitely potential to stick around. The important thing to have though is a cohesive team... that's the way most of out squads die (see the last 4 or 5, for example). Since you say that you already have a clan of sorts going, this might not even be an issue.
The part that many are getting confused about is whether you want to be competitive within our community. If you do, you'll need at least 30 players to field a good sized team on a Sunday. Unless all of your old timers return, you'd need to recruit from our community (not saying that's a problem, just saying that you'll need people). If you are content with just playing pickup games, then I suppose this won't be much of an issue.
Regardless of what comes of this thread, there is something you can do. If you really want to form a group within Allegiance, just prefix your name with "TRG_" or "RG_"... or whatever you'd like. There's nothing stopping you from doing that. If you want a squad tag (Name@TRG), I'm sure we can at least discuss things first.

We actually have quite a few sins players ourselves who do casual games every now and again.EvilTesla-RG wrote:QUOTE (EvilTesla-RG @ Apr 15 2010, 08:56 PM) In SOASE, is when our situation worsend. Three hour long games are not conducive to a clan enviroment. I even tried modding the game for shorter gameplay.
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.
I think that you have a chance at finding players and integrating into our community.
some friendly advice:
1) avoid Malicious Wrath like the $#@!ing plague, seriously, he is NOT a respected member of the community, and will earn you INSTANT dislike from most of the other squads
2) get all your guys playing the game, make some user bars or something with your clan tag on it
3) DONT TRY TO START A SQUAD, see if you and your guys are fit for allegiance and this is something you want to do
5) Join up with an existing squad that falls in line with your 'clans' philosophy
4) wait 6 months. this is hard, but necessary. The average learning curve from newbie to vet involves a lot of time. If you feel like you REALLY want to make your own squad you can start from there
A couple things I think you may really want to think on.
Allegiance players, the ones who stick around and are active, are like a huge cult. Many of us have been playing this game for years, and we know each other quite well. See our Allegiance Gaming Clan on steam if you want to get an idea of what its like. Next, each allegiance squad is like its own 'clan' within the main cult of allegiance. Squads like RollingThunder enjoy playing D&D online, squads like pk, sysx and XT enjoy FPS and other games of brutalization. most of us enjoy strategy type games, and a whole ton of us have SoaSE accounts.
what does this mean for you? It means that most of the long term players, are not going to be interested in your clan. New players may be interested, but if you have no main offering, and you are new to allegiance, you do not have a REPUTATION yet, and will lose the better players to the bigger and more established squads.
lastly, AVOID MALICIOUS WRATH LIKE THE $#@!ING PLAGUE

I was afraid it was MW puffing himself up via a secondary forum account.OTDT_Hunter wrote:QUOTE (OTDT_Hunter @ Apr 15 2010, 04:18 PM) When I saw the title "The Rebel Genius". I thought it was another rant about MW.
EvilTesla - Pay ABSOLUTELY NO HEED TO THIS PERSON. Malicious Wraith/Federalman/BladeOfGod/Octavian is an overly egotistical, self-important, incredibly loud pilot of mediocre skill. Almost noone around these parts likes him and he spent a lot of time making a bad name for himself when he showed up by crowing about how he was smarter than everyone else here. He'll tell you that he has an incredibly high IQ and that he knows more about this game than most people when in fact he has almost no social skills and doesn't play well with others.Malicious Wraith wrote:QUOTE (Malicious Wraith @ Apr 15 2010, 06:23 PM) Welcome to Allegiance, if you are serious about playing with your clan I would be glad to help you guys get situated. I am a commander of some infamy (in all senses of the word), and would be willing to help you pick up the game over ventrilo sometime. Skill comes with time, experience, observation, and innate talent however.
He is an incredibly poor sportsman who behaves like a toddler when he doesn't get his way. Almost any time he starts losing, he ragequits and he regularly blames lost games on everyone but himself. He is responsible for the ONLY 9-minutes SG resign that I've ever seen in my 4+ years here.
Please note that he is an anomaly and not at all indicative of the community as a whole.
