Since I have the same issue, I'm gonna hijack the thread for a lil bit.

It might only be my impression and not fact, but the game does seem smoother (I'll have to run the trainings on 'original' R5 to double check) when in-game, ie. flying, the extra lag I used to have when floating mouse-pointer over minimap seems a lot lower. Of course, I'm guessing the big problem will be loadout/Base-HUD screens which are the slowest ones that make trying to loadout a chore. Sadly, there's no training that lets me doublecheck that.

Do both surfaces respond to hovering over/clicking?

For me it responds like the top surface isn't there but it shows whatever you do on both surfaces.
