um... no, that's pretty doable. Each level of each ship type for each faction has a separate ship entry in ICE with its own field for fuel capacity. I shall impart upon you secret ACS knowledge to succeeding vs. any faction as GT. This method has been passed down through many hands since 2006.
1. Defend your first op con and make sure it plants. Keep light defense on your home miner.
2. Defend your second and third miners until you get Ints.
3. Using the $#@!ing retarded amount of money you should have from defending for 10 minutes, push a palisade and outpost into enemy territory.
4. Buy a research.
5. ???????
6. Profit.
