He didnt at all and I agree with him completely.

Would it be hard to change the alleg installer to offer a high res or low res version?

The thing is pick-up games. People say they suck. The thing is, THEY ARE NEVER GOING TO BE AS GOOD as squad games. A lot of it is, people getting better at the game, then getting annoyed when people aren't as good as them, then leaving.

Just lower your expectations of pick-up games, learn to enjoy the game with your fellow human-being and stop taking it all so seriously, then it becomes fun again :) Over the years I've seen a fair few players join and then leave on this path, a bit sad really, but if people can't get this message into their thick skulls, then so be it.

As for those who leave because of the attitude of others - well your leaving is just going to make it worse isn't it! Stay and be a force for good!

After quite a break from Allegiance, I was recently surprised to see how few people were playing Alleg at weekends...at least @euro times that is. :(

I would say that the community would be growing... If it was aimed at the population that grows in the gaming world overall. However, (and maybe this is not such a horrible thing) it is not aimed at that population, that population which (and I am quoting someone here I just cannot recall who) likes to play "slutty bimbo games." IMO, the game of Allegiance, due to its steep learning curve, is much more mentally involving than the majority of games out there. The population therefore of this game is then much more mature than those of the normal gaming audience. This audience (yes my generation of teenagers) likes for a game to be a cut and dry do-this-achieve-that kind of experience. Now Allegiance has those parts incorporated into it, but the relevance of those cut and dry actions are greatly diminished in such a team based game. It takes a more mature gamer to be able to realize how much better these actions feel when contributing to a team goal. For example, when I play a great game in CoD4, I don't feel nearly as great as when I play even an average game in Allegiance. Due to the time it takes to even achieve the ability to perform even at a mediocre level, that huge boost of players laying in the immature gamer category will not stay long enough to get what they want. In their eyes, what good is a game if you can't feel good about yourself after playing it.

We need to go get creepy flight sim dudes. They'll take 20 days to learn to take off in their ultrarealistic, multiscreen, super high-end, piper cub with authentic controls and a hat that says "pilot."

I know some. They could spend less money on flight lessons. They belong here.

edit: because they are obsessive.
