Nah, people should be switching SY and tac off for small, late night games. Their own fault if they don't.
Still, we just ran into this problem a little while ago: a two hour game because once AT is up, the only way to win is to get SBs once shipyard is off. Sup has NO endgame worth a damn (TP2 regular bomb run?) and HTTs are pretty weak. It'd be nice if you weren't forced to go the cheesiest techpath for latenight.
(Note: only saying that tac is cheese in latenight)

Spu can win with regular tp2 runs with regular (hvy) bbrs. The trick is that most people dont know you can drop tp2's closer! zomg! In fact, there was a few weeks when people did tp2 runs with regular bombers. I remember spidey popping out a 5 bbr run with nans about 3k from my sup. Whoops.

Heavy bomber, AB 3, AC 3 and heavy scouts with nan 2 isn't worth a damn? It's pretty damn sweet imo if you have some coordination in the team and a few competent bomber pilots.

The thing is most people forget that for about 5 or 6 years this was the ONLY option sup had and tp 2's would randomly explode to boot!

Some data:
For an average faction(Neglecting Gas):
Fully Upped SBS: 8k Bombers+ 10k Techbase+ 20k Adv Tech + 6k SFs + 6k SBs + 4k Sig 2 + 4k Sig 3 = 58k
Fully Upped Bombers/Hvy Scouts:10K techbase + 20k Adv Tech + 8k Bombers+ 12k Starbase + 8k Heavy bombers + 6k Adv Scouts + 8k Hvy Scouts + 2k Ab2 + 2k Ab3 + 2k Ac2 + 2k Ab3= 80
80/58=1.379. The bomb runs described are 1.379 times as expensive. This is a serious handicap for sup versus tac. Perhaps there are other things which make up for it.

Vs mini3 heavy ints that laugh and spike the bbr? Killer 2 advanced SFs that literally need SIX killers to down a heavy bbr? DF3 spikes?

Compared to what? Slow HTT's which need to dock at the base, sbs which can be hunted down oh so easily by heavy scouts or pulse probes? There isn't any unstoppable endgame techpath with SY Off.

Looks overwhelmingly in favor of these items no longer being tied to the SY flag
