This gets the madpeople stamp of approval
Unless a server admin steps up to do it on their server, i would think we need to ask db to turn it on on the beta server to test it before other admins do it.
Though this should work fairly simply

omfg ! If only some of my clients were THAT fast to move on useful things as alleg community....
WE HAVE MADP STAMP OF APPROVAL ! `4
Please let me know in either PM or as a reply here, what can i do to move it forward.... I have some server/bandwidth capacity i can totally use for our pleasure, i have knowledge and experience (over 20 years in IT networking, yeah... i'm THAT $#@!ing old, another year and i join ACE, not that they would have me or Archie will release me from my obligations to SF, but still... just to make a point).... so get on it, lets do this @#(! and all be happy... I'm willing to listen to ANY kind of whining, BUT the lag issues ! `gh

Your obligations with SF, is between you and Striker. I wont let you free from your obligations as mah slave if thats what you meant. You could join @FTW that would still need to please me every night.

Brilliant work Voobscout.
I hope our GPZ overlords get on board with this.

Well, "no more lag" sounds really great. who wouldnt want that...
So, as I understand all this, it can be simultaniously run with the current servers/setup? So if we would adapt the IPv6 system and someone wouldnt want to have any part in it, he still could play? Then just do it and lets test the heck out of it. Id rather play with 70ms than with 150ms
And if the fibreglas/highspeed IPv6 will get slow to the current pings and/or would be no longer free of charge, well we still can go back, cant we?
So, I dont see any real downside, except maybe the hussle to creat an account there and update your ip adress. (on this point, yes please, someone make a script and/or explain to me exactly what those 3 command lines do there)
Someday maybe the 3 command lines could be incorperated in AGSG, that would make the whole thingy perfect.

No matter where i go, there will still be Archie and my undying love for him ! Besides, i'm looking forward to be the next old geezer in @SF.... lol... i'm probably older then anyone in my squad (which i love, the squad, not being old). And but ofcourse, Archie gets my pleasure services....

Dorjan wrote:QUOTE (Dorjan @ Apr 26 2009, 02:21 AM) Yeah what happened to the 3FL?
I suspect it crashed and the 3FL admin just hasn't restarted it (despite posts asking for it).
It was hardly used anyway because US and EURO players didn't want to and we didn't get a mass influx on new Aus/NZ players. Also lag for Asian players was pretty bad. 3FL also seemed to have some weird issues; Maybe because it was sitting behind a virtual server.
So this new idea sounds great!

Catwiesel wrote:QUOTE (Catwiesel @ Apr 26 2009, 02:43 AM) On the other hand, if it would split the community between the IPv6 users and the IPv4 users I am doubtful if it would make much sense.
That's the thing: Nobody would be left out... ipv4 users will be able to connect as usual, but the ipv6 pilots would be able to eliminate their lag... that's the whole idea: doesn't matter where you come from, you can still fly without any lag, if you choose to....

Well if it really is as simple as Voobscout says we are all quite stupid if we don't at least try it. I doubt I can help much except trying and testing it from the client end once a server is set up.
