With this happening and a restriction on graphics modes on old DOS games (I'm a big-time retro gamer), the next card I get is going to be ATi. nVidia's just pissing me off too much these days. It seems like every time they come out with a new card line, they drop off more functionality.
Please create a new thread with your problem. But yeat it's usually nVidia Cards

I'm getting the same kind of issues here, and since there's already a topic for it I might as well post it here.

Windows Version (and Service Packs): Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3
Processor Speed: 2.60 GHz
RAM: 1.98 GB
Video Card (Make and Model#): NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M
Sound Card (Make and Model#): SoundMAX HD Audio
Connection Type (Dialup, Cable, DSL, other): N/A, I've had this happen during the training missions, it's client side.
Modem (Make and Model#):
Router (Make and Model#):
Internet Service Provider(company name):
Location(State/Province/Locality, and Country):
Installed Mods: None

Make and Version of firewall: AVG Free 8.5
Make and version of anti-virus: AVG Free 8.5

Confirm that you have the following installed:

•.Net 2.0 [ ] I'm pretty sure I have this, but how do I make sure?

Problem Encountered at Step #: (read the "What Should Happen" for this step#) Not perfect, since this happened during solo play in training, but I guess it'd then be between 5 and 6 or at 13 depending on where you want to count jumping into training.
Which Program (ASGS/Allegiance): Allegiance
What Error Message: N/A
Comments (What you tried, description, etc):

Game starts adjusting graphics into yellow blocks, starting with the HUD after about half an hour or so of play. It'll work again after restarting it, but I'd like to see if this is fixable because this would be a pain to deal with if I ever got to playing an actual game and I can't fly because half my screen is yellow.

AdvanceStrat,

Unlike most forums where an issue has already been covered, we do encourage people to start their own thread in the helpline. It keeps things nice and tidy and allows us to focus on your case, specifically. Many game issues have different underlying issues that sometimes appear to be the same cause. That's why we encourage people to make their own thread.

Having said that, have you tried the solutions or work-arounds found in this thread? If they don't help, then by all means post a new topic.

A word to the wise: you really should try this in a real game to see if you get the same issues (I suspect you will, but it's worth a shot). The training missions aren't the same thing as the regular on-line game. Our developers focus 99+% of their developing efforts on the actual game, and not the training missions..

I'll remember that for the future then. I haven't gotten to try an online game, mostly because the place has been fairly empty in the newbie servers when I've been on, and I'd rather not jump in one of the main games just to test my graphics card.

As far as the solutions in the rest of the thread, the only long term fix that I saw around here seems to be going to some Alpha version. What is that exactly, and where would I find that?

Here's the linky to the alpha version thread.

You can launch a solo game on our servers to test stuff... controls and the like. Then get into a game to try it out. I'd try this before you go the alpha route. Alpha will probably be overwritten should an appropriate update be pushed.

Tested it. Still happens in-game, and alt tabbing didn't really do anything. Should I go ahead and try to use alpha then?

Sure. Couldn't hurt.

Backup your Allegiance client first, then let the alpha version overwrite the original. That way you can restore the backup if alpha doesn't work out.

I figured out (for me at least) it has to do with the "3D Acceleration" option under "Graphics Device." By default it is set to "Use 3D Acceleration as needed" and whenever it starts to use 3D acceleration, everything on my screen goes yellow. If I change the setting to "Never use 3D Aceeleration" before I start a game...I never have the yellow problem. I found this out by disabling while I was in a yellow - spiked framerate state and it went away as soon as I disabled it, although it is a little difficult to disable it in game because it's so choppy. I also have Nvidia and all the other jazz you guys have too. Hope this helps!
