16 months and still no fix for the 2.0 Service packs ????
At the time of that post, I believe ASGS required framework 1.1 and I was able to install, run and play Allegiance on windows 7 (32bit).
I then immediately repeated this on the windows 7 (64 bit) and found it did not work no matter what I tried.

I haven't tried to install/run Allegiance on a windows 7 platform since.

Tomorrow I will verify whether or not Allegiance works on windows 7 (32bit) and report back. The conversion to framework 2.0 and widows 7 (32bit) maybe an issue I'm unaware of.

Have followed these steps to the letter, still get same error as spliffy, I have Windows 7 32 bit installed. It's not that big of deal I can reboot into XP but it would be nice to not have to do that to play. I am open to new suggestions.

Running the RC I hope, because I have no issues with Allegiance on either 64bit or 32bit

I've done some minor sleuthing and the only thing I can find is some obscure function in C# that has a problem with Win7's permissions.

I'm afraid this will have to go to Pook. I'll see if I can poke him.

This may sound like a stupid question, but those of you running windows 7 with it working, what settings do you have active?

Specifically, I'm looking for UAC policy, default account and any sub account levels, etc

I'm interested to see someone succeed. I've tried all of the workarounds so far and none of them have worked for me yet.

Looking forward to jumping on and having some fun with the new rig :(

Gave it a try today and I am getting the same

everyone else is getting.

The R5 beta client can connect to the beta server but one (or more) of the files are out of sync (even after auto update) so I cannot join a game on the beta server.

Of note I tried 'repair/update critical files' and if failed with a similar error already posted on page 1. After installing the dotnetfx.exe (.NET 2.0 Framework) it started working even though Win 7 complained that 'this functionality was already built into Windows 7' and did not complete the install. I DID NOT have to install .NET 2.0 to simply launch ASGS 2.0 and then go directly to Login (i.e. not repair/update).

Might be a coincidence but even by attempting to install dotnetfx.exe (as admin) it sticks stuff in C:\...
