Hvy Scouts being tied to Starbase

when u let rix have heavy scouts without a tech base then ... what is the heavy scout about then?

No, my proposal would mean that you'd need both Starbase AND a techbase to research Hvy Scouts, which I stated in the opening thread.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

Gods, no. Both Dual and QL missiles are needless and silly cheese. How come the frigging scout get's more effiscient missile systems than an advanced fighter. We need to get rid of this and never look back. The miner killing power will be scaled back to sensible levels too when they no longer have the extra missile power. Like four / rack wouldn't be enough on it's own.

Personally I think the adv scout to heavy scout jump is too big. Give adv a bit more hull/speed perhaps? Or even give it two prox a slot? Having a gunner, double the prox slots, better missiles as well as stat perks just seems to be too much, spraead the increases out between reg/adv and adv/heavy.

Adept - the dual missiles did take up, in effect, two slots as I remember, which did help make it a bit more even. Without a gunner I don't think heavy scouts are particularly great miner killers anyway - with a gunner they are, but then you've got two pilots so you'd expect it to be better.

I don't have strong feelings about the missile issue really though tbh. Not sure it really makes that big of a difference.

Alright guys I will split off a thread for you to discuss Hvy Scouts in particular, since this thread is about whether or not they should be tied to Starbase rather than whether they're cheese or not.
