Large games of 100s of players is NOT what Allegiance was ever intended to be. Games of a large size are boring wankfests where all that happens is a big hairball of mindless dogfighting MOST of the time. The game is meant for strategy and individual contribution to the team and quixotically teamwork more then anything else. To many players means * yawn * for those who like the strategy aspects over the whoring of gents like yourself.

Next you have people here playing for going on a solid DECADE if you count Beta release from MS. So yeah they just might of thought of some of these things already. People are a bit snarky, and impatient ( just ask TJButler, who btw is not only giving golden advice but learned it the hard way. ) at times they can hand out "advice" with too firm of a hand and even in too nasty tone.

I do, strangely enough, agree we need more people, easily double or triple of the individuals actively playing right this moment. The one big game is the largest drawback to retaining people and why many long timers eventually just piss of and go do something else. The hit to PU game quality short term vs The One Dickhead Can $#@! Up My Whole Evening of Allegiance Effect is well worth the trade off

QUOTE so what if there are more newbs? just means easier kills.
You may like whoring on new players but some of us don't.

QUOTE and to the ppl that think noobs suck? u were a noob probally longer than any1 else
We only think noobs that are stupid and have a maturity level lower then a five year old suck, we love newbies that can act like a mature person.

Allegiance already is a good game but it is a bit empty. If you use the search engine, you'll see another thread like this. Allegiance has been advertised in many places, a while back there was even a vote spam campaign to bring it up the rankings on one site. New players are offered a load of resources and training led by a human instead of a bot. There are servers for them to learn the game on, even bans for those who whore on them. Still, most of them quit because they can not get over the steep learning curve.

Why do the majority of new players not get over the learning curve even with all the help on offer? There are two categories of new players, newbies who listen and the noob. One is appreciated but the other is despised.

The noobs are stupid, ignorant and didn't take advice. They refuse to listen to others and kept on believing that they were correct no matter how stupid they were, this leads to the community rejecting them and making fun of them. If Allegiance was inhabited mostly by these types, it would surely collapse. Veterans of the game would leave or only play squad games because of the great wall of stupidity found in regular games. Eventually without the lead of more experienced players, all games will turn into stupid cap ship wars with 9/2.5 settings. Everything that goes on is people calling out NOOB, PWND, I R 1337, etc. Who cares if theres heaps of players now, we have another Runescape like game.

Meanwhile the new players who listen actually try to learn and show a degree of thinking. They behave maturely and learn from mistakes instead of believing they are always correct. More of this type manage to climb the mountain of a learning curve that allegiance has. In the end the players like this who remain understand the concepts of Allegiance even if it is very basic. They don't perform stupidly often and when they do they'll correct it instead of making a post in general such as "OMG U SUK Y I GIT B0oT3D". In the end the community respects them, commanders want them to fly for their team because they know they can actually do something useful.

Right now I'd say you are still in the noob category, theres still time to change though.
