Thanks quack,
- The phone did ring and was afk shortly before this. Right there, I should have handed of com.
- Appologies for naming people. I was still "hot" from the game and should have cooled down
- ACS... hmmm, i'll think about it
Thanks for the feedback.
quackdamnyou wrote:QUOTE (quackdamnyou @ Mar 26 2008, 04:50 PM) So I came late on this drama, but here's my take:
* Priv booted evin for trying to mutiny and failing at spelling. Evin is sore at being booted. That discussion is completely separate from the question of accepting the noob.
* Part of the problem is apparently priv was called AFK at some point. Which is another issue all together; you should have said something or handed off comm, priv.
* I'm rather impressed that you didn't name names, Guitarism. Respect +1.
* However at the time you needed to give a little more concession to the fact that he was running a game that was in its late stages. About the time you joined and were yelling at him on team chat we'd just had an uneyed run on our exp and lost it, and were trying to save our last miner.
* Do not underestimate how devastating it can be to accept one newb too many as an underdog comm, especially in a small game.
* Hey priv, how about ACS?

its not hard to fire off a pm to a noob with "i'm trying to avoid 'blahg' could you wait a bit or join the opposing team?"
idk i wish noobs below 3 didn't get added to your player total

Not only is he on the money here, he also helped create a really nifty game earlier today. I stepped up to com and wanted to try IC sup if the map allowed it. I was up against dreg led by Madpeople@ACE, so odds of me winning weren't that great. We got to 8 - 9 ppl with Madpeople one up and with 25 helo. I asked if a vet would want to join us to even it out, and Guitarism was the cool fellow who did (to the general surprised sounds of NOAT sitters).
I never had time to look at helo since (I put autoaccept on when I launched), but it felt really even, and really kickass pilots joined us in ones and twos all through the game. Thank you Adaven, Sheff, Adam4, Wiz, Hyro and others. And thank you Madpeople & team for a great game. We made you fight for it, despite losing our opening op by a hair's breadth. It seemed like my guys enjoyed themselves too, despite the loss.

yes, i've secretly changed squads and not told anyone, especially any squad leaders of either ACE or GB, and am keeping my GB sig and staying on the GB squadroster and squad list to confuse my enemies /ninja.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" />
but yeah,
i just leave AA on unless i am getting lots more (#) than the other team, and i'm usually not too bothered if i have a few more (#) as long as my team isn't noticeably more sucky because of them.
perhaps i should try setting imbalance to auto and see how well the system works...

Sigh,
All 18 pages of this game log read. Many different things going on here.
Evin, Right or wrong with your game advice, if the commander boots you, do not sit in the lobby and harass him. You did keep most of it to private PM's. I do not think Clay would wish an ACS nick being used in that manner.
PrivM was afk for a few minutes when the original players were trying to join. The logs show him telling the team he was back. (No commander order's to miners, etc. during this time frame. So some leeway there.
Several people did get a bit hot and heavy with yelling back and forth after that. BUT, as stated above, at that point in the game you should have taken the new player.
End of discussion as far as I am concerned.

Oh please
A commander stacked to hell and adding another new player is just going to increase the stack. Priv is down a player no one will join except a 4 who is almost certainly as useful as tits on a bull. You want the new people to play, SOMEONE join the team down on Helo, pm the stacked comm and bitch at HIM to take the four not the poor $#@!er getting vet cocks shoved up his unlubed ass.
I agree in principle with the entire sentiment and Im sure that gui, lyk and the others mean well but maybe we need to look at from the proper perspective.

Several vets said they would join his team, but to take the noob first. Once he did they joined.
