Can we reduce the ban time or improve the process by which you could challenge a ban at the very least? I got banned for 16 hours today because the game controller decided to add newbie to the game name and I didn't notice. I wasn't the only person with a 5+ rank in the game either, and we all got banned. I understand that I got 16 hours because it's my 3rd ban, but my first two bans occurred from me getting a rank of 5 after playing in a bunch of games on the newbie server. The game controller forced a new game and bam, I get a double ban. As it stands, the only way I know how to fight a ban is to contact BlackViper. I sent BLackViper a PM regarding my 16 hour ban, explaining the situation. I've got 5 hours left, and I suspect that BV will not even see my pm until after my ban is up. I understand that the rules are there to protect newbies, and that's fine. However, it seems like there is no real effective way to fight a ban and when I get banned from a game that has no rank restriction, but has newbie in the name...that's infuriating. Can more people be given the ability to unban people so I have a better chance of fight a ban? Perhaps a way to have my ban timer reduced?

Step 1: Remove the "Newbie" server name keyword ban.
Step 2: Set the designated newbie server to only accept novices and make this option unchangeable by the comms.
Step 3: Enjoy.

Someone mind pointing out whats wrong with this? The game already has a built in rank restriction system, why does it need to ban? IT DOESN'T.

Im going to laugh the next time a hider account comes on and gets the whole main prime-time game all banned, or even a double ban, them starting a game right after the first ended.

Just to have said person create a new account after resetting there mac ID/IP Address after they got banned.

The ban will be months long and cannot be bypassed by swapping your mac addy and IP. People are not foolish enough to do this.

What other method could they possibly have to prevent a bypass if someone really wanted to?

/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> HERE IS AN IDEA if a <4 ranker joins a newb game if hes rookie 90% weapon damage if intermediate 80% wep damage if veteran 70% damage if expert 60% damage and if there is anything higher than that then 50% for them

handicaps are always useful /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

-infamus waz here

EDIT: oh and IP resets DO NOT WORK against bans or kicks no mater how unsecured a game is hell I couldn't even do it on Starsiege: Tribes
