As for any hotlink to Microsoft's website, the link will become a 404 momentarily.

Hello. I'm a Vista (Home Premium) user, that used to play on Windows 2000. I really don't know what's been going on, but I would love to have a finaly answer. Will this work on Windows Vista yet?
"AFAIC, there is no cure for Vista Home Basic. It's terminal. " Implies no, however:
I thought that the problem that you were facing is that .Net 3.5 has been causing conflicts, due to MS removing some back compatability. Having updated this to be compatible with 3.5, surely it should work with Windows Vista. There's no way I'm going back to XP or even 2000, I'm just hoping there'll be a way to get this working.
By the way, I did that 'fix' that is in some Wiki somewhere (no idea, ages ago) and it didn't make any difference. (on the page it said fixing this on Vista was unclear if it would work or something).
BTW your site works fine in IE8. (Oh wait I'm in IE7-mode). If I remember I'll recheck.

Thats all fine and cool, but what about you update the official downloads page so that users with .NET 3.5 can actually download the new ASGS client?
I sure will not uninstall it, install .net 2.0, install asgs, let it update, install 3.5 ... wtf
Just update the downloads page damn it, its no big task but helps users a lot.
And while youre at it, please update the server package to the R4 server build. I know I saw a link to the R4 server somewhere on this forum, so whats the big deal with updating the downloads section?
/SORRY
Just figured out the new ASGS client is not out yet.. or is it?

Do you think we don't release it just to piss off the users? Rest assured, it will be released, once it is done. Until then, you can work on your politeness.

To add my experience. I advise also against installing NET 3.0 SP1. When installing it NET 2.0 SP1 was automatically installed.
Also this might seem obvious for majority of users, still:
- in Windows/Microsoft update center (high priority updates) there is an option to hide the updates - I strongly recommend doing this for NET 2.0 SP1 and NET 3.0 SP1 update (correct me if I am wrong - this should also prevent Window's auto update function to install these update automatically).
I have installed all other updates (except NET 3.5) and everything works for now (this relates to the information I read somewhere that one specific update for NET 2.0 should not be installed).

My rant was based on the false assumption that it already got released, but not linked on the downloads page.
