Probes do wonders for stopping those damn leaks we call alephs. Finally I can take a bath without my space being sucked away.

zecro wrote:QUOTE (zecro @ Dec 31 2007, 04:08 AM) It always bothers me when people NEVER TAKE ALONG PROBES during initial scouting! It's not that hard to put A PROBE IN EACH SECTOR JUST IN CASE A BOMBER SHOWS UP. You don't need freakin' mines or missiles during this time, just keep a nan in cargo, and everything else should be probes. amirite?
You are of course completely correct of the in variety. Proxing the enemy con and defence force is invaluable to getting a head start.
TakingArms wrote:QUOTE (TakingArms @ Aug 9 2009, 07:15 AM) it's interesting how politics turns ordinarily funny, kind-hearted people into vicious, hateful attack mongers. Except IB, he's just always that way.

People just take stuff too seriously I think. Except IB, of course.

So, this year I was not able to probe. Same rules as last year, 5 reasons why I didn't and IB can only be blamed twice. As an additional rule this year, Noble can only be blamed once, because he deserves half the blame that IB gets.

1) IB did something that prevented me from probing

2) IB did something that helped me to probe

And if either of those statements are not making sense to you at this time, then you have obviously forgot that IB is correct. I'm obviously going to have to explain myself this year. IB's full name is "Correct: The former allegiance player known as Insanity Boy, Killing Floor Crossbow-maniac, Left4Dead Chicken, PK's negative management".

3) Allegiance Drama

As if you had any doubt, I was busy on the boards trying to follow the non-existent drama. What have we done by using this containment device we call the "rants" forum? Not only is this "rants" forum effective in detainment of serious drama away from more visible boards, but it has also worked as a diffusion device that nullifies peoples hard work creating drama. The rise in the use of some type of magical key has also caused a containment of drama. This magical key somehow makes it so that drama is locked inside some type of black box where it for whatever reason cannot continue it's normal development cycle. As a dramatologist, this raises concern about the health of drama in the wild. If we continue to use these magical keys, in as little as 10 years, factors such as global warming and fixation of ideas by genetic drift will eliminate this keystone species from the allegiance environment. This will in turn attract invasive species such as newbies and voob, which will outcompete with the local wildlife.

SAVE THE DRAMA!

4) Noble

Those of you who know why he's listed know why he's listed. Those of you who don't know why he's listed, don't know why he's listed. What? I haven't said anything that incorrect yet.

A short one due to wrist problems, what type of corruption has happened in my original post. For some reason, something is screwier than a talking, two-legged bunny is to Elmer Fudd. Hell, it may even be screwier than the defective products given by the ACME corporation to Wiley Coyote… Super genius. Surely the genius could have just used the money spent on the dynamite and rocket to buy himself stuffed Roadrunner. Better yet he could have bought himself a fried space muckfish, a delicacy in at least 45 sectors and the rarest fish in the world. Either way, digression

5) Corruption

Did I just repeat myself? Who cares.

The year is still young, I can make up for this. I have the technology. I will, right now, make the guarantee. I will not probe, you're going to do it for me.

The important thing:
I probed.

Have you?

HAVE WE LOST TAB SUPPORT!? HOUSTON, WE'VE LOST TAB SUPPORT.

Dude, did I just necro a necro'd thread? Ratical.

Fail for probing on RPS core. I see those EWS probe 4's! Such technology is banned in at least 250 sectors with only the wild and dangerous "Titty Baby" allowing them, and even then only for scientific deployment!

I don't really like early game probing.

1. You can tell if a tech base planted by the build sphere and loss of a rock
2. You can see He3 drop'
3. Most scouts are already out there and disrupting miners and cons and keeping tabs on them.

I might bring along a few and place it next to a successfully pushed base, but normally I load up on dumbfires and a few prox and attempt to kill an undefended con, or even bag a miner.

Once the map has been scouted, then I'll eye the enemy bases and probe where it's needed most.
Even earlier if a bomb rush is expected.

i usaly take all probs and a nan on the first trip out probs can be droped for tecs if needed and are still kinnda usfull that way

and if you scout far enuff to the the enemys sectors a prob behind there alphs can be usfull in the game to see just what ships there coming out with and were there minning as most players wont bother to kill probs behind there alphs also helps see were cons are going for the rest of the team

only when they start to have bombers and sf are more probes realy needed but by then noone wants to prob so all probs droped in the begining also have the advatage that they are alredy droped
