Well the nvidia team has already replied asking for more info, but it could be a 'bot' for all I know. At least there is some movement on it.

Thanks for everyone's input. I really hope ATI and NVidia keep supporting the older DirectX games with their latest and greatest cards.

Well here it the latest. I loaded the drivers that came on the CD with the card, version 167.26 and they WORK FINE.
w0dk4 reports that the lastest works fine under Vista
my experience is the latest (and the latest beta) do not work under WinXP Pro, but 167.26 at least does.

Has anyone got allegiance to run on 64 bit?

It isn't just the 8 series cards. I have a 7950GT and downloaded some beta drivers (169.09) a couple of days ago. Now allegiance starts with a decent framerate but keeps getting slower and slower until it eventually crashes. Minimising the game seems to reset it.

I can see my page file usage slowly getting higher and higher as I play.

Oh, cool. Good to know that the new drivers cause this problem. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

nV is releasing beta drivers for the newer games at a very fast pace.

They released five drivers in this holiday season for various games like Crysis, UT3, Bioshock etc. This is more than the total number of driver packs they released in the three years previous.

I won't be surprised if they change stuff and only test them on the game for which they are releasing it for, breaking other stuff in the process.

meh. i have a cheap geforce 6200, works smoothly and always 70fps, even with high res textures.

Cheap is the way to go.
